No one was kept in their houses at gunpoint, the adherence to wearing masks & checking in with QR codes etc. has been casual at best & not enforced to any great level.

wtf?

I started packing when Ms D was alerted last night.

This really is the a-hole of the planet and despite the stories the COFFEE IS sh*t.

The people that claim Melbourne coffee is the best are the same that spend their weekends in piss filled alley bars paying $80 for something called a ****bomb which they then Instagram to their 14 followers thinking they're an influencer then ask for discounts at the gelato store because of it.

This ladies and gentlemen is Melbourne in a nutshell.

Malcheski is my new favourite poster.

Sorry OGC and smiffy.

I'm talking Adelaide all cops did was check in on people forced to isolate at home, the masks were heavily advised at one point but not enforced & the QR check ins have been as loose as a goose.

I just read the post you were responding to.

As you were.

I like coffee as much as the next guy but let’s be real it’s f@&king bean water! You’d have to be an actual melon to screw it up.

Burn the milk? But yeah it’s not rocket surgery.

There's good and sh*t coffee everywhere tho isn't there? had a weak as piss coffee on Prospect Rd the other day with the hip brigade everywhere.. I've had better at Lizbeff.

Yeah there is. My point is that it’s very easy to make it good and it doesn’t get any better if it’s made in Fitzroy by a guy wearing a shoe for a hat.

Sorry to shatter your innocence but all laws carrying criminal penalties are effectively enforced at gun point.

Way to miss the point anyway. We've had a million freedoms and liberties compromised and yet even the people who are pro vaccine staunchly defend people's rights to not get vaccinated. Bizarre.

Sorry to shatter the dramatics you were after but when enforcing was tantamount to a friendly chat from old mate copper 'gunpoint' you are jumping at shadows.

I'm open to convincing if you want to make a real argument for compulsory vaccination, but being over-dramatic about lockdowns isn't that argument.

My argument is pretty simple - if this virus is such a threat to the health and safety of citizens that the government is willing to do things like destroy people's businesses, enforce lockdown for months, prevent people from seeing sick/dying family members, etc, then making vaccination compulsory seems like a proportional and consistent end game.

I also think regular vaccinations should be compulsory. We live in a society and this idea of 'I should have freedom to decide what to put in my body' shouldn't override your responsibility to the health and safety of everyone else in society.

We could have everyone chipped at the same time eh
That's happening anyway. The COVID-19 vaccines connect everyone to the interwebz via the 5G network

... apparently

thirdly how would you prove you have had a jab, are we to have more big brother stuff like a 'I have been vaccinated tattoo'.
The exact same way that you prove you have had a flu jab when you want to visit an elderly relation in a nursing home? You get paperwork that says you've had a vaccination when you get it. Also you're medical records contain this information. You would simply show that.

Or when you want to put a pet into boarding, and they require up to date vaccinations, you simply have the paperwork and show that.

Its not some overly complicated conspiracy thing here.

The aim is to achieve herd immunity now that the rollout of the vaccine has started. That'll make it difficult for the virus to spread. I've seen estimates that 70% to 90% of the population need to get vaccinated to achieve that. I'm not in favour of mandatory vaccination but every person should do their bit unless there are medical reasons.
