Looks like they have attracted some okay International talent

LA Knight Riders - Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptil, Jason Roy, Rilee Rossouw, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Adam Zampa, Spencer Johnson
San Francisco Unicorns - Qais Ahmad, Finn Allen, Aaron Finch, Shadhab Khan, Lungi Ngidi, Harris Rauf, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Mackenzie Harvey
MI New York - Jason Behrendorf, Tim David, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Kagiso Rabada, David Wiese
Seattle Orcas - Quinton De Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Izarulhaq Naveed, Wayne Parnell, Dasun Shanaka, Andrew Tye, Cameron Gannon
Washington Freedom - Ben Dwarshius, Moises Henriques, Wainindu Hasaranga, Marco Jansen, Adam Milne, Josh Phillippe, Anrich Nortje, Glenn Phillips,
Texas Super Kings - Dwayne Bravo, Devon Conway, Faf Du Plessis, Gerald Coetzee, David Miller, Ambati Rayudu, Daniel Sams, Mitchell Santner

(these are going off the MLC website. Unsure how many are actually in the country at the moment)
The gap between the international talent and the domestic talent is going to be awkward.

Really though its only going to take off in the U.S if its aired on television (not talking Willow TV either). Would need to either be on ESPN or Fox. If they were smart they'd also try and market it via Barstool Sports and Pat Mcafee.

I've been following this tournament since 2020, I really hope this kicks off. It has the money backing of the IPL franchises, so I doubt it be a one and done. Having seen the draft and the Minor League Cricket tournament of the past two years, I think think there is a long way to go in broadcasting and commentary. Or it could just be the makeshift setups.

From the names listed, some of the franchises have taken from their respective IPL/ILT20/SA20/CPL squads for the internationals, which further strengths the case for year long contracts. Some of the "domestic" talent is there but that mostly comes from those players that have moved to the US from overseas like Corey Anderson and Umukt Chand.

I will try and get Best XIs up for this tournament shortly. Once final squads are announced. Teams are allowed 6 "Internationals" per XI, which goes to show their lack of confidence in their domestic players.

Nice, the squads already look better than what we get in the BBL, could have a good thing going on here. Hopefully it gets off the ground.

A scene where Bond was stalking a bloke at a cricket game was cut out of Casino Royale because US test audiences didnt know the sport being played...
hoping for the best.

I'm ranking the chances that some of these guys never get paid at about 50/50.

First game (Texas vs LA) is apparently sold out

No idea what that translates to in terms of numbers or how tickets were priced.
The Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium is a converted minor league baseball park. Capacity is 7,200 and they can expand to 12,000. Tickets are priced at $30.00.

I imagine most crowds this tournament would look something like this
