Hi guys, mods feel free to merge thread if I have missed an existing one.

Recently I purchased some cricket memorabilia from an auction last month from this place

Most of the stuff didn't have either a CoA (doesn't bother me personally) but more annoyingly didn't have a list of the signatures on the bat (my plan is to get them framed with a plaque on the front). I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with the names.

The two pieces I purchased were these ones. One bat signed by 13 Australians from ~1996 and one signed by 18 West Indians from a similar time frame. The auctions also included bats signed by the Pakistan and Sri Lankan teams so my guess is that they were squads from the Tri-Series either from 95-96 (Aus, WI, SL) or 96-97 (Aus, WI, Pak).

If anyone can help out let me know, thanks

The West Indies bat is from their 1996-97 tour of Australia.

Patterson Thompson's signature, second from the top, is the vital clue. Thompson toured in 1996-97 and was not party of the West Indies squad for the one-dayers here in 1995-96.

Thompson played in the Adelaide Test in January 1997 without distinguishing himself.

Very sharp but incredibly profligate

Thanks for help. I learnt which series the bat was from and learnt a new word in two posts... :)

You're welcome.

I will see if I can find an image of the auction lot of the bat signed by a mid-1990s Pakistan team.

It would be interesting to see if the bat was for the 1995-96 tour (Tests and no ODIs) or the 1996-97 tour (ODIs and no Tests; Pakistan's only win in the 3-team (4 teams in 1994-95) ODI tournament in Australia formerly known as the Benson & Hedges World Series Cup).

Lots 30 and 31 from the auction appear to cover the Pakistani touring squads for both 1995-96 and 1996-97.

A right result ...

While it is reasonable to excuse the odd typo, the listing has some jarring mistakes: Shayne Warne, Tendulker, Dennis Lillie (not the leggie who used to play for Queensland), and Jeff Thompson.

In about 2000 age 10/11 we moved house, and one wardrobe was left in a bedroom.

Immediately curious, I found these in a sleeve on top of the wardrobe.

I haven't seen them for a solid 15 years. I thought they got chucked but stumbled upon them sorting out some stuff in mums garage yesterday!
