Let's be clear here, I never said they shouldn't do it. I said they look silly for doing it when their team has a reputation for doing the same thing. What I’m saying is just because there has been instances of this crap in the past doesn’t mean these guys shouldn’t be admonished, the other carry on is just gravy. You act like a campaigner be prepared for it to be returned. This group of blokes enjoy the smell of their own farts and think their untouchable, their behaviour over this entire tour is ******* disgraceful and there is no moral reasoning that can excuse that
Is anyone really, reeeeally surprised?

Headline of the NT News tomorrow an absolute classic. Hope someone can post the pic.

It's like Geelong supporters having a whine about someone ducking, yes they may have a point, but they look ridiculous going on about it seeing the players they have in their team who are known for doing the same.
Wouldn't be unhappy if they called off the series tomorrow.I guess so but it was always gonna happen, I don’t think with how this series has been played and the act itself I don’t think it’s just about the one act
As captain and VC. They're still taking the field.Gunna be playing with 9 men. Smith and Warner have stood down.
Smith off for a meeting with his PR Consultant. As captain and VC. They're still taking the field.
Though Smith is off for a sub ATM
There was a classic some years ago about a feral pig drinking beer and rooting everything - an actual pig, not a local.Probably their best since:"Headless body found in topless bar"

Faf Du Plessis was convicted of ball tampering three times now and he is still SA captain.
Agree Smith should go for this but the Soutj Africans have no right to be taking the high moral ground today.
IMO that should be flipped, Bancroft as the one who actually tampered with the ball should have the higher grade. As Barnaby Joyces would say "Two Wongs don't make a Wright!"
Update:
Smith has copped a 4 pt charge and will forfeit 100% of his match fee PLUS he's banned from playing the next test.
Bancroft copped a 3 pt charge and will forfeit 75% of his match fee but will remain able to play in the 4th test.

Think Faf got 3 points for lolly gate in Hobart, so theyve charged Bancroft in line with that, but I personally feel he's being protected far too much in all this.
Theres vision of him pocketing sugar in earlier tests isn't there? Doesn't seem like the first time he's done it.I can only presume that, from their investigation, leadership had more to do with this than initially thought and an 8 test lackie was just going along with the plan they'd drummed up, showing his inexperience as he did so.
Dunno.

Dunno, I just don't think he's as innocent as he's being made out to be.
I don't think there would have been a lot of arm twisting involved.
Dunno. I haven't seen earlier footage. Based on the relative punishments dealt out so far I can only presume they felt Smith should know better, being an experienced international captain, and Bancroft was a naughty boy whose inexperience and lower ranking likely saved him from further punishment.
