Well finally after dismal last quarter to capitulate to the Bulldogs we finally have to face the fact been avoiding and that we will not be in finals .
Why have we plunged down almost 10 spots on league ladder .
Most have been discussed but I would like to look at our coaching team with own views which must admit from outside looking in on our season.
Sando
Whilst not unhappy what he has added to team I personally would not be throwing around contracts yet .
Positive personality has team working hard for him but selections have been horrible especially slowness in selecting players that have proven ready.
Forward structure and getting caught on outside run regularly stand out as also weaknesses in team . Of course pre season debacle stands out as well .
Believe a full season of Bailey will help and changes in assistants is required.

Fitness Coach .
Why did we let successful one go and miss out on Burgess is another club stuff up and got it so wrong with choice and even focus on tackling skills a disaster and gone backwards.
Please please replace at any cost .

Ruck Coach -- Clarke
This is another disaster area and needs immediate change .

Forward Coach
We have nobody in our coaching group anywhere near a forward coach and Bickley definitely not one and even Sando was a defence coach with Cats.
Another must change.

Midfield Coach
Word has it Campo has a contract that may save him but this area needs some fresh thinking .

Defence Coach
Milburn seem to have done ok job and on contract and can only get better with time , but prefer to see someone else in Sandos ear match day with different ideas .

Dean Bailey
Good to have for full season next year and hope Sando gets feedback etc from him to keep a step ahead or better positive reaction to opposition tactics etc .

Obviously other moves like replacing Trigg and Harper would be of advantage to club overall.

I don't think fitness is an issue at all. We have played some very fast games this season and held up well. I agree with fresh blood in the coaches box for the sake of new ideas and views. Bickley has been their way to long and maybe we could try and get back Simon Goodwin. Maybe keen to get out of the Essendon environment.

this summer should be a huge focus on tackling.

Im not so sure about the ruck coach being a problem. Jacob's is clearly doing well in hit outs but I would have thought his work around the ground falls into the midfield coaching group.

So getting Dean Bailey back proves he is not the 'match day genius' everyone made him out to be?

I was going to raise this. Weve been crapping on Sanderson all season about his match day coaching with many claiming that Bailey was the mastermind of our 2012 resurgence. I've seen nothing to suggest that anything has changed since Baileys return.

We beat Geelong, North Melbourne and had a very close game against Port. I would say the crows have been in much better form since Bailey came back. How much you can credit to Bailey I am not sure. But we have been better. Until yesterday it would seem.

I would not be against Bickley taking over the midfield with assistance from Bailey and going after a decent forward coach.. Is Tredrea interested??

He's not the greatest tactician is he:thumbsdown: ....(ultimately, the buck stops with him on this...despite having a myriad of match day help)

When you play a keen team of lads who have just won 3 of their past 4 you don't want to get involved in a shootout, particularly on their own dung heap!

What was it that stupid Rowey said "Beauty...good teams don't tag"...fool:rolleyes:
Cooney has been in red hot form recently, as have a few of their lesser lights and they should have been paid more respect.
I knew then we were up against it when no hard tags were applied.

There were players who played shit and it may be harsh to single out one pleb, but I hope Rutten was given his departure itinerary to the magoos for next year as well as a bake at quarter time. When does McCartney come out of contract –Perhaps we can we poach him;) ?

Weak as piss.

Jacobs plays like Clarke does, any ruck we develop will probably face similar challenges??? Is this where we see the future of rucking? Running around like a chook with his head cut off in between stoppages?

I know very little but I am liking the development of the defense. However having said that if you look into our coaching box you'll see it's quite clear who the head coaches confidante is.If what posters have said has insight into our woes, surely some responsibility should be attributed here?

WE know we have no genius in our forward coaching ranks.

Does he come and go a bit?

FFS, why is TredGay the answer?

Would rather go after the wizzzz and he is a brain dead moron.

Tredrea will never come because he has a cushy media set up. He might be interested in a 1 or 2 day a week specialist role. Might be handy to work with guys like Johnston and Walker.

Reckon you could get Shaun Rehn over from Port to be ruck coach?

I reckon we have no chance. He has become engrained in that club now.

I don't see a day where a Port power star player will come across and coach us but our star players will go and coach them.

The port power (club and supporters) place way more emphasis on the hate factor between the two club than we do.

He would more than likely be a parasite and leak all sorts of innuendo and misinterpretations to other parasites like Rucci , if he was amongst our coaching staff.

Tredrea is probably the best CHF since the Carey. Why the disrespect?
Seem to recall Tex approaching him last year, and Tredrea was more than happy to offer his opinions and advice. Took on a bit of a mentor role.

Club would be scared that some Kensington nanna wouldn't renew her membership if we got Tredders in

People would be so torn between "love all things AFC" and "hate all things PAFC" that their brains would explode!

So we might finally get a decent cheersquad. :thumbsu:

Lade was always certain to be ruck coach and done great job at Richmond as certainly turned Maric game around.
Interested to know if anyone aware why Scwherdt was pushed out at Crows.
