With an average of 62 points against.

And whilst Melbourne are woefully inept, the other two sides we've faced were top four contenders AWAY.

Very impressive start.

The Melbourne game skews our average a lot, I'm not reading into it too much yet.
That, plus our other 2 games were in wet conditions. It's a nice stat to have, but yeah, dont read much into it.

I would agree with you...... except for the fact that despite the fact we played in the wet we are also the most potent attacking side in the league.....

:D

It is funny to think that we have the best defense so far in terms of points against. Especially when 3 years ago conceding only 100 was a good defensive effort by us. Long may it continue.

What do we think that we can have as our season end average against? I think the target should be around 80 points but even 90-100 would be an improvement over previous years. I do not expect our average to remain as rosy as it is right now. We are better than last year but not by that much. Our depth hasn't been tested yet. The last 10 or so games last season was a disgrace as we averaged something like 120 points against or thereabouts from memory.

I expect the top defensive sides come year end to be Fremantle, Sydney and Hawthorn. Fremantle have a very defensive style and should fare well in this stat. Sydney and Hawthorn are fairly balanced and just really good sides. Geelong seems to be involved in too many shootouts at this early stage but will still be decent in points against.

We should be aiming for under 90 - This indicates that you will make finals and probably win a final. Under 85 means that you should be top 4.
