What one would you take in your side, myself i would much rather Swanny, think this year could be his biggest yet.

Should be on Poll Board but I would take Luke Ball

Ball's the greater talent, but he's been brought undone by injury. So I'd take Swan, who's proven pretty durable in his career thus far.

Quite a thought provoking comparison, unlike some of the oddball pairings here.

Hmmm, I'd have to go Swan.

I honestly can't remember what a fit and firing Luke Ball was like, while Swan has been a major force for Collingwood the last two years.

Dane Swan quite easily.

Luke Ball has not had a full consistent, injury free season in years, yet the last 3 years from Dane Swan have been All Australian selection quality.

Swan last year developed into an elite midfielder in the competition, and for a rookie vs a no.2 draft pick, value for selection is also much higher.

I saw both players play live alot last year, my gf is StKilda supporter, and when Ball was fit he was probably as good as Swan, playing a similar type of role, but the problem with Ball is his fitness.

Swan hardly ever misses a match, and in the last quarter of games he shows that he is the most dominant midfielder fitness wise now Harvey has retired.

Luke Ball's biggest problem is playing for a shit truck club like St Kilda, who like to run their young stars into the ground.

If he was at Geelong, West Coast or Hawthorn, he'd be a bonafide champion by now, like Jimmy Bartel, Chris Judd and Luke Hodge, his fellow top 10 draft picks from that year. .
