    How in the hell do we end up with pick 9 .......so we give Grigg as an example for #9 ...the AFL won't sign-off on that
    Any other configuration simply results in us having only #14 for Dangerfield

It's just more Victorian media propaganda hoping the cats get Dangerfield cheaply now they know we intend to match.

Ken Wood is not going to allow a side deal where we say get pick #9 for effectively nothing. Eg for mackay. It would be rejected & then we would be stuffed.

Further we would be in more trouble with the Afl after our tippett-gate dramas, which is nor worth it.

Finally we are better off weakening the cats with 2 x 1st rounders than just 1. It will make it difficult to rebuild to replace their many 30+ old stars.

If we are dealing with Geelong, I would expect the trade to be pretty amicable.

Last year both clubs came up with the first round swap trade that helped both clubs out. For some reason we must have really wanted Wigg. There seems to be a good working relationship between both clubs.


The huff and puff by supporters on both boards here would be a contrast to the professional manner both club's recruiting/negotiating people will be going through.

Danger is the biggest fish. That deal is first. Then they will work out the Henderson and Zac Smith deals. If you hold Dangerfield up he may get wooed by another club rather than risk going in the psd and end up at GWS who have told him they will take him. Take it to tge bank, getting Danger is the win and a deal will be done first thing Monday

so according to the cats board

first they were going to agree on dodgy trades for compo pick
then it was some crappy players and 5 second and third round picks
then it was 2 first round picks
now the whole team is taking a pay cut?
