Who's the better player?

Please use the follow criteria:
Handballing -
Kicking -
Tackling -
Marking -
Speed -
Courage -
Endurance -

My Opinion:
Handballing - Cross
Kicking - Draw
Tackling - Ball
Marking - Cross
Speed - Draw
Courage - Draw
Endurance - Draw

Discuss.

Handballing - Cross
Kicking - Ball
Tackling - Ball
Marking - Ball
Speed - Even
Courage - Ball
Endurance - Cross

Strange way to do it but:

Handballing - Cross
Kicking - Ball
Tackling - Ball
Marking - Cross
Speed - Draw
Courage - Draw
Endurance - Cross

Even though it doesn't look like it after that, Ball is the better player.

Yeah I'll agree with this.

Crossy was a real good player in his time and should make the Doggies HoF, but Ball has always been the better player.

I think as it stands Ball is the better player but Cross is as courageous as anyone

Handballing - Cross? Both good. Maybe a tie.
Kicking - Ball
Tackling - Not sure, both pretty good.
Marking - Definitely Cross. Don't know how you could say otherwise. you couldn't count how many goal/game saving courageous marks Cross has taken.
Speed - Not sure. Both are slow. Give this to Ball?
Courage - Cross is maxed out on this scale. So at best the this even.
Endurance - Cross

Still consider Ball the better player so maybe I'm biased in the above ranks.

Also, why isn't there an option to vote for ball as a dogs supporter?

Ball pretty clearly I would have thought.

No offense to Crossy, who has gotten every inch out of himself, but it wouldn't even be a contest (as far as their careers go) if Ball had had a good run with injury throughout his career. He was on target to win multiple B&F's (like 4, 5 or even 6) until his groins packed up on him and left him a tragic shell of his previous footballing self. It would have just been Riewoldt, Hayes, Ball and Fisher monopolising our B&F for about 12 years if he'd had a good run with injury.

He had a terrific season in 2011 to such an extent that I thought in terms of importance to our side he was only behind Pendlebury and Cloke. He was also very good last season after coming back from a knee. Hopefully he'll be better again this year.

I would and I think most others would take Ball just. With his kicking, he's simply more damaging. Cross is only just ahead in most areas, other than handballing.

And you would be vastly wrong. Ball plays more minutes in the 2009 GF and St Kilda win.
Bullshit, the ball bounces the other way to Milne and St Kilda win

That was 2010.

But agree the premise is bullshit, who's to say Ball doesn't give away a free kick that results in a Geelong goal that extends the margin. Purely hypothetical stated as fact, bullshit.

His point was that Ball was close to bog in 2009 if you factor in the amount of time he was on the ground.

Jesus Christ mate, calm your arse down. Ball was having an absolute belter in 09. So to hypothesize that he would've helped St Kilda close the tiny deficit is more stable then him being a detriment.

Ball is a bit more damaging than Cross.

I can't really recall ever being excited by one of Cross's possesions other than goals obviously. The most exciting things he'd do is the courageous type of stuff.

He barely ever got it wrong with his disposals though. Plays within his limits IMO.

Ball. His 2005 was quite good, better than any of Cross's years. Most teams would be able to find a starting spot for both of them. Its that hard work/sacrifice/tackling thing that gets them a game every time.
