I did think that and wonder why it wasn’t a 50.
Worst adjudicated rule in the AFL.

Countless 50's paid every week from players who had no intention or ability to impede play.

Whenever a player does impede the play-on its always play on. What is the point of the rule?

Darcy Moore was absolutely sensational today. Undeniably a superstar and hopefully our next skipper.

Forget the smothered kick, Kossy wasn’t outside 5m and play should’ve been brought back unless there’s a rule I’m missing?

I didn’t mind the way it played out. It wasn’t as if Kossie was invisible. Onus was on Moore to get back off the mark rather than leaving it the hands of umpires to adjudicate.

Two bad mistakes. He also let Brown take an easy grab early on when In best position.

Otherwise he was sensational and just kept on trucking

He's playing quite well now. But he sometimes panics in a one on one. He gave Brown way too much freedom to jump at the footy & mark it. Will need to fix that against better opponents.

Should we get Murphy or Howe to do the 1 on 1 stuff if he is poor at it, or even Maynard and let him intercept? BTW though I think that he has played on better opponents than Brown this year anyway when you think of King Curnow Lynch etc.

Darcy got his groove back at half time against the tigers and is back in superstar mode.

I think it was just the game plan changes (and Roughie’s absence) that threw things out.

If we can get a gorilla FB (Dean?) then releasing Darc to his natural born role as CHB could lift us even higher.

Moore is not poor at one on one defending. He gets beaten every now and then like all key position backman since the dawn of time.

Is McGovern suddenly crap when Mihocek out marks him?

The fullback of the century Silvagni used to have bags kicked on him by Plugger and Dunstall all the time. Lost countless one on one contests.

Valid points. :thumbsu:

100%

We're doing Moore a disservice measuring his contribution solely as a negating full back. Full respect to players like Gayfer and Presti but Moore is not in that conversation.

He's a CHB in the mould of Glen Jakovich, but with more attacking flair.

Like all defenders, even the stars, he will get beaten frequently.

I wouldn't change anything about Darcy, even if the risks he takes with his kicks give me palpitations.

He takes more risks than any of our other blokes with those skimmy type kicks.

Am I right in saying a forward hyper extension is better than a sideways one?

Not a 12 month injury?

95% likely to be an ACL. Praying for PCL but either way season over.

Let’s hope it looked worse than it was.

Need him back and healthy….

Any of our resident medical people have any early thoughts?
My physio mate pretty much echoed TRS’ post above yours. 99% sure it’s an ACL. Low chance PCL. Either way he’s done for the year, which really hurts us.
