Has been very consistent all season! Big improver and is always the last line of defence. Has kicked a fair amount of goals this season.

This year, Jolly > Everitt. :D

Good thread I2S, was thinking the same.. Definitely worth the pay rise he got.
Really have become a big fan of his. Love the fact hes a Swan..
Looking fwd to Jolly/Currie combo..

I've been saying all year he's become one of the elite ruckmen along with Cox, Sandilands and recently Hille. I was gutted that he didn't get selected for the dream team game. For 2 years now I've said he's the most underrated player in the AFL. I hope he gets the recognition at the end of the season.

Yeah, what I like about him is how he's in the goal square at those crucial times to mark the ball and save us 6 points. Same goes for Everitt, both of them did it today at some stage.

The Doctor dished out some medication to Cloke today. He'll probably just miss out to David Hille for AA selection.

Now i know there is a poster called Doctor Jolly on these boards but i can't remember what the reference was from? I sorta remember it was during a game 2-3 years ago but can't quite remember the story behind 'Doctor Jolly'

When Jolly tried to point out an opposing player needed to go the blood bin, umpire Goldspink said something along the lines of "Are you a doctor now? Doctor Jolly?"

Agree with all the kudos for the big man, he's been great all year. His tapwork has improved immeasurably, he's a good mark, can kick straight up forward, and works really hard around the ground. One of our best today.

Jolly was good, loved the way he played on and kicked the goal, made a statement!

has been good all year but the last 5 or 6 has stepped up again.

Taking some good contested marks and has a very good boot for a ruckman. A very important player in the swans side right now.

Is probably just in front of Hille for AA.

Another agree, mobile ruckman at his best! The way he took a great contested
mark today, and played on and kicked a goal was inspirational! Just gets better
and better. Needs support though,Spida is too slow,we need to bring in one
of our young rucks,to benefit from Jollys experience. And show him the way!

Has been taking great marks in the goal square. He provides another option up forward. It's great to see him grabbing marks over his head and see him leaping occasionally. Loved the goal he kicked late in the 4th quarter. Sensational!!!

He is simply working harder. He is getting himself to contests. He is doing what a ruckman is SUPPOSED to do. Put yourself in holes (FF, CHF, CHB, FB), and since you are taller than everyone else, you can get first hands on the ball.

He is positioning himself extremely well, which is where his improvement has come from.

Yep, another fantastic game from Jolly. Does anyone else think that maybe Spida showed that he could be slowly coming back into form today?

Hard to say.
One of the criticisms he has had since coming across, is that he plays well when against inexperienced ruckman, but goes missing when we play teams with decent ruckmen.

He looked like a he moved a lot better, but I guess we will see in coming weeks.

Theres no doubt he still has a lot of value as a tap ruckman but I reckon today he looked like he was starting to move a bit more unrestricted. At his age I'm not expecting him to get back to his AA form but if he can get back to where he was last season I'll be happy. I think a lot of people underestimate the effect that an interupted pre season can have on a player of 34. If he can string a few games together without any injuries then he could be very handy come finals time.

oh god yeah, jolly was one guy today who consistently took over head contested marks, he was sensational. I love that guy. Also everitt normally annoys me but he wasn't too bad either today.:thumbsu:

yes malceskifan, i did. Normally he makes me very angry but today i found myself kudosing him, the one time i yelled at him i realised it was misdirected and should have gone to jolly ;) Do you guys remember, i think it was in the second quarter and jolly handballed it directly to a carlton player, meh, doesn't matter though, jolly was brilliant and everitt wasn't too bad either.:thumbsu:
