I was thinking the exact same thing! A forward line of Vickery NReiwoldt Membrey is starting to look competitive. Its a fair deal and if anyone is concerned about us losing a fwd/ruck then we can just pick up Shaun McKernan for free...

People seriously underrating Armo on here. Pick 11 for Armo + Saints' 2nd rounder is well worth it.

Yeah exactly right mate.
This draft after the first 6-8 picks if very even through to about pick 40.
So we are only dropping 9 picks in a very even draft for a bloke who is in his prime and will get his 20 possies and 4-5 tackles every week.
I understand his no Selwood, Fyfe, Pendalbury but he will play very solid football for us if we can get the deal done.

I know it does. Every line needs help that's why we finished bottom of the ladder but our midfield is by far the worste. Take armo out of our team and put vickery in and we are getting flogged by even more every week. Armo is a warrior and exactly the kind of player we need to lead our young midfield. It would take a fair bit more than vickery and a downgrade of our second into the third round to get it done.

Ps nick riewoldt doesn't tape his shoulders.

Really this rumour has no legs. Bains came out yesterday and said nobody had raised Armo's name in trading.

iif you lot dont reckon he is worth #11 it wont be done. saints dont want a 2nd rounder and he has more value to the Saints than that type of trade.



As for Vickery - please, you guys can keep him.

Still he doesn't have any now and since we got rid of Kosi (and the ball hardly gets forward at the moment) his shoulders are a lot safer.

A quick back of the envelope, but surely we have a tonne of room in our salary cap when I take a look at our list? We can't be paying most of our hacks much can we? Not that we need to resemble a half-cut US marine on R&R flicking around the money at anything that gives us a passing glance, but have we got some cash to spend. Don't get me wrong, Armitage is ok IMO but I just don't reckon he holds form enough. Will play a good game or 2 then nothing for a couple.

Well yes there is, our midfield got absolutely smashed this year so it's not much use having another forward if the ball doesn't get there. In the modern game midfield is king.
