hopefully the appeal will go his way.

Not a chance, clear cut two week suspension

Only question is will the Magpies cheat the system and take the result to court and get an injunction after the appeal is thrown out

lol!! :p Bad luck with Jason. He may have been going for the ball ... but it was reckless. There doesn't have to be intent. There have been several players this season who have been suspended for reckless acts.

As the Tribunal chairman said ... "we don't control the calender"

Hope so.

Then we might cheat the salary cap after that too.

your.................. complcated things now Squeak, hehehe

And i meant to say Jason, I know david retired from playing for the Magpies long time ago before going to other team, Carlton I think

Yep he's fate seems sealed and will miss out on a grandfinal. Hard to see an appeal going his way or any other desperate measure that the pies can conjur up.

Im shattered for Jason.
Topdon, I can't believe you could laugh at it.
It would be like me laughing when Hird's face was mangled.
Different circumstances yes, but still pain involved.

Jason plays the game well.
Bleeds for the jumper, tries his guts out and 9 times out of 10 spoils correctly. Just a cruel twist of fate that he got it wrong this time and that it was in the Prelim Final.

I thought the only reason the injunction back in the Dunkley days was because the AFL offerred no right of appeal, and as such denied the player natural justice. The AFL brought in the Appeals process, and you would think the justification for a player to be granted an injunction against a ban, would not be there anymore.

Thats a shocking comparison.

Hird's injury was horrific, and an accident. Cloke's actions were reckless and quite possibly on purpose. Hird had no choice in his pain, Cloke did.

I wasn't laughing at the virdict ... i was laughing at the 'David' Cloke stuff-up. Why on Earth would i laugh at this. I wanted the kid to get off, it would be terrible!! I may have wanted him to get off, but his action were reckless and i've seen players suspended this season for much less.

I'm shattered for Jason too. I was shattered for Jason McCartney in 1999.

On purpose?
What a load of crap.

Obvioulsy Jason most have eyes attached to his ears because he obviously knew were Edwards' head was. Becuase his normal regular mortal eyes were on the ball.

Fair enough- I was gonna say!

I didn't find the David Cloke thing funny. I find nothing that 'MrBoy' says funny.

I said 'possibly'. But the world is against you, i understand.

Maybe next time he'll remember that humans don't have red leather faces with stitching down the front. Although Edwards probably does have stitches now.

Regardless of whether or not there was any intent, I'm quite sure that Cloke would have known exactly where his opponent was.

I never understand it, when people say things like "he had no idea where the player was because he had his eyes on the ball" when it is quite obvious that both players are spatially very close to each other.

Of course players know where their opponents are - if they don't then they shouldn't/wouldn't be playing the game. Basically, the matter therefore, is whether or not intent was an issue.

Whether or not Cloke intended to make his opponent "earn" his possession, I doubt that he intended to seriously injure someone via his attempt to spoil.

God its humerous how people seem to think that a player has 5-10 minutes to think of how he is going to approach the upcoming incident. Instead of the actual time of a split second.

I don't think anyone's saying that at all.

See? I always said the silly lad should have gone to Richmond.

Had he have been a Tiger, right now he'd be kicking back, beer in hand, with the biggest worry on his mind being whether to go and get the overnighter new release, or 5 weeklies for $6.
