If this draft is so shallow i.e obvious top 4, would we prefer redden and 25 to pick 5 and 25. 25 then to North for Greenwood.

Could Redden and Greenwood replace Beams?

Well we have Freeman who is coming through soon. In the future our combination will be Greenwood, Adams, Freeman. Right now we still have Pendlebury, Swan and Sidebottom who are all capable ball winners so it won't be left to a couple of guys.

Swanny is coming towards the end and Sidey is more a outside guy, thats where he does more his damage so i think Reds would be a massive get.

I voted parity , but in my mind that means "close enough" given the circumstances (5 + Redden or similar). I certainly don't expect us to accept 5+25..............and to be honest I can't see Hine doing that sort of backflip. Brisbane trade pick 21 for Greenwood
Collingwood trade Beams for pick 5, Greenwood and pick 25

A better deal would be nice, but this is what I could see us accept if we don't want to bother with holding up to a disgruntled Beams for a year.

It wouldn't be the lottery but I think this deal would be fair. I would cop it if we absolutely can't get one of Aish/Mayes/Redden out of Brisbane, or Treloar out of GWS.

For what it's worth, I would actually prefer Treloar to Dangerfield. Guy is outstanding already and looks like being phenomenal.

Swanny is near the end and will soon be replaced with Freeman. Sidey will still be more outside but can rotate Inside to give Adams or Greenwood a rest. We still have Pendlebury who's can play both inside and out.

Interesting to see the comments develop over the course of this 311 page thread.

Seems we may be getting close with numbers increasing of those reasonably happy with some trades being discussed.

Greenwood is easing the pain and to me is a good addition even if just a stop gap for a few years. Regardless what anyone says, his the type we had to get as security for possibly losing Beams or even not reaching a trade with Beams and him becoming even more disgruntled.

Personally I think we should continue to play hardball now we are progressing with signing Greenwood. We have nothing to lose out of this, nothing at all IMO. If Beams walks next year then so be it. We get another year into our kids to soften the blow and clear enough salary cap to make a good FA push when needed.

I'd still push for pick 5 & Redden - People say it won't happen and not concerned if it doesnt happen, that's up to Brisbane. We don't want to set a precedence that we can be bullied into letting players go for nothing.

We'd be kissed on the proverbial with that sort of deal. It leaves us with 4 picks in the top 30 of a draft that will produce gems up to pick 40 and that's before the Lumumba deal is finalized.

I think you have the two confused. Rich is a ball winner with suspect disposal and T-rex arms while Redden is great outside and I'd say has the better disposal of the two.

I like it too. It would depend on whether GWS think Patful is actually worth pick 21. I would be happy to throw our third rounder towards GWS if it would help convince them. Then again they probably wouldn't even use it. They could of course package it with another pick and on trade it for an experienced type.
