Gunn has a lot of goodwill, but geez, he appears to be making the same mistakes by stacking Legacy with other characters and not focusing on each character individually. Appears to want to shortcut his way to an 'Avengers' movie just as they did the first time round.

I understand the questions this continues to raise. For me I’m not overly concerned about the number of characters being cast/confirmed.

I recall similar eyebrows being raised when the same thing was happening with The Batman (in particular, people wondering how/why there’s Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin being included and whether that’s too many etc). Much of that became much more relaxed when the 3 hour runtime was announced, and it all worked together fine in the finished product.

Much of what I’m hearing suggests something similar for Legacy. If Gunn wants a 3 hour film he will get it. Of course that presents its own challenges and we’ve seen the likes of Snyder get carried away and try and jam 3 films into one. On this topic however, I think it will be okay in the end.

The other stuff being mentioned, brand damage, audience apathy towards DC, confusion with what it’s being rebooted and what’s not etc etc, that’s where the major questions remain for me.

I think the major difference there is that Reeves Batman universe is self contained, its not going to at any point do any work to weave in other films and create a Justice League tie in.

We already know Legacy will be the first step to a new Justice League and its hard to think that the casting and subsequent story isnt going to be doing its hardest to build that world ahead of time.

You might be right and youre absolutely right we should wait and see but i dont think the Reeves Batman is necessarily the right comparison.

Yes only time will tell on this one. I only drew the Batman/Reeves comparison because I recall (in this thread actually) a similar sentiment that “they’re cramming in too much, too many characters etc”.

Penguin now his own spin off, which I understand if announced/rumoured before the film’s release, would’ve caused similar angst.

I hope it performs ok despite the doom DCU baggage. Afterall, the first was a seasonal success with broadened appeal. Trailer looks promising, and it’s still a James Wan with a fun cast. Hopefully it can clear half a bill against the grain.

Eh, some of it looks ok, some of it looks waaaaay to silly, and the CGI looks really ropey in parts. I wouldn't be holding out much hope for this, though Wan does have a good track record.
I’m not saying it has to actually be good, just appealing enough to casuals with that camp goofy spectacle. The first one was like a 6/10 tops.

How has a teaser for Joker 2 been on YouTube and I have not been aware of it until today.

Aquaman 2 colour palette and cleaner digital cinematography does look campier but the 'epic' vibes are there. Hopefully it's good.

Was inevitable.

They were just trying to keep up interest in the existing slate but it failed anyway and AM2 will probably flop.

Reboot time*.

*With John Cena, Viola Davis and Gunn’s wife carrying on.
I thought at least Gal Gadot might survive the cull. She was a pretty kick-ass Wonder Woman.
