Nice. I am greatly looking forward to this one. Really loved the 1st installment and i found it alot more enjoyable than L4D.

Saw the trailer the other day, thought it was WAY too good to be a fake.

Will be interesting to see what it's like, never played the first, so will be interested in playing this.

The gfx in DR1 were very, very nice and it is quite an underrated game

Definitely one to pick up for those who decide to buy a 360

But what about the gameplay though, it looks a bit repetitive?

I have to say Dead Rising has always appealed to me, as I loved both Dawn Of The Dead movie's(And any other 'of the Dead' movie for that matter) and this looked like playing out that movie in a game(Obviously it was thought to be too similar as well).

Well, because it's an open-ish game, it can be repetitive if you choose to play it that way.

You could run around for 3 hours just hacking zombies in the seemingly unlimited ways to do it, or you could do the objectives.....it really depends on what you want to do.

IMO it's really no more repetitive than most games, it only seems moreso because you technically don't have to perform missions.

Think of not performing mission in GTA and just running around the city belting people up.....that would be repetitive, but GTA typically isn't seen as a repetitive game

Shaun of the Dead would have to be my favourite. :thumbsu:
Yeah love SOTD, it's the only 'of the Dead' movies that actually sits in my DVD collection at present.

If this game was based on that movie I'd buy it.

One of the weapons would have to be your old record collection. :D

[looking through Shaun's LPs for suitable records to throw at two approaching zombies]
Ed: 'Purple Rain'?
Shaun: No.
Ed: 'Sign o' the Times'?
Shaun: Definitely not.
Ed: The 'Batman' soundtrack?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: 'Dire Straits'?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: Ooh, 'Stone Roses'.
Shaun: Um, No.
Ed: 'Second Coming'.
Shaun: I like it!
Ed: Ahhh! 'Sade'.
Shaun: Yeah, but that's Liz's!
Ed: Yeah, but she did dump you.
Shaun: Oh!

DEAD RISING 2 MULTIPLAYER CONFIRMED
Capcom has been very tight lipped about facets of Dead Rising 2, with much of the information about the zombie killing action sequel released in one press release and a few screens. We were keeping our fingers crossed that there would be something – anything – released about the upcoming game at GDC, and luckily, we managed to glean a few little nuggets from the show. During the Platform Independent Shader Development with mental mill – Making of Dead Rising 2 panel, Izmeth Siddeek, the character art lead from Blue Castle Games detailed how the development team needed to focus on creating large amount of characters that had to be lit and shaded properly, as well as a number of other design hurdles overcome with the mental mill program. Thanks to the program's shaders, the Blue Castle team was able to create unique eye and cloth shaders, as well as skin shading that looked natural and realistic that could be applied to large numbers of characters and zombies on screen at one time.

However, it was Laura Scholl, the Product Manager of mental mill, that made some of the largest bits of news out of the panel. Mentioning a conversation that she'd had with Siddeek about the use of the program, she stated that Siddeek confirmed that Dead Rising 2 will frequently track at least 800 separate clothing textures to provide the sense of unique zombies onscreen. What's more, thanks to the elements that Blue Castle are using from mental mill to quickly mass produce characters for the game engine, players could experience as many as 6000 characters onscreen during multiplayer sessions.

That last stat bears repeating for two separate reasons: first, there was no prior admission of multiplayer within Dead Rising 2, which will be a pleasant surprise for Dead Rising fans. Secondly, to face off against up to 6000 separate zombies at a time will definitely be a daunting, but thrilling prospect. Although no other details on multiplayer or the game were provided, it definitely was an exciting statement to hear. We contacted Capcom for comment, but did not receive any word as of publication of this news piece.

Now it may not have multiplayer.:(

DEAD RISING 2 MIGHT NOT HAVE MULTIPLAYER
Wasn't that news about Dead Rising 2 featuring multiplayer just great? Well, sorry, it turns out it may well have been wrong, with the lady responsible for the statement now issuing a correction. It was Laura Scholl (from tech company mental mill, who are helping with the game) who, last week, said Dead Rising 2 could feature up to 6000 zombies on screen at any one time during "multiplayer". Turns out that was a slip of the tongue, and she meant to say "multiplatform".
"In my 'During the Dead Rising 2' presentation at GDC this past Friday, while I was describing how Blue Castle is using mental mill technology in character development, I mistakenly referred to the game as multiplayer instead of multiplatform. I apologize for the confusion."
Bummer!
Then again, don't be too bummed. This isn't a denial that the game features multiplayer, just a denial that she said anything about it at GDC.

Dead Rising 2 info will be coming at TGS, more on what it will/may be in the next few days.

Can't wait to see what it is as the game is really sitting on the fence of being a buy or not buy for me at the moment. An online or co-op could push it into a buy.

DEAD RISING 2 STUFF COMING OUT OF TGS
“You’re not going to see it on the floor of TGS, but there will be Dead Rising 2 stuff happening coming out of TGS,” Capcom’s Chris Kramer said, talking in this week’s podcast.

“That sounds maddeningly cryptic, but you’ll be hearing more literally in the next few days.”

Reports are already hinting at a multiplayer reveal at the Japanese show.

TGS runs from September 24-27.

The save system and time limit was balls. It ruined the experience for me. Other than those 2 major offsets, the game was really impressive for the time.

"I've covered wars ya know.." always made me laugh:)

Some new trailers came out today.

Delayed a month.

Capcom has just sent word that Dead Rising 2 has been delayed till September 28th in North America and October 1st in Europe. The game was slated to release a month earlier and we can only expect the game to be better because of the delay. The zombie massacre will have to wait a bit longer.

Yep ****ing pisses me off, L4D2 was one title I was looking forward to. However even if they re-release it they've missed the boat for the online community.

I'm sure they'd be able to patch it to add all the gore back in. Might need a considerable amount of space but it's worth it. Got the Uncensored gifted to me on Steam by a guy in NZ a few days back when it was $10 and it's not THAT bad (the gore). Yeah there's copious amounts of blood and flying body parts, but if Dead Rising 2 got through, then I don't see any reason why the original L4D2 didn't.

I don't game on PC, don't own a PC with a high enough spec. I've had a work provided laptop for the past 10 years so in no hurry to purchase something. :)
