The save system and time limit was balls. It ruined the experience for me. Other than those 2 major offsets, the game was really impressive for the time.

"I've covered wars ya know.." always made me laugh:)

Totally agree. The save system was woeful, probably the worst I've encountered in any game. Really took a lot of the gloss off the game for me. One save slot ffs!

And surely by now developers have figured out that gamers seriously despise stringent time limits.

Hopefully DR2 fixes up both of these areas. A little variation in the mission structure wouldn't hurt either, the escort missions can become a bit of a grind.

Dead Rising 2 has a new save system so you can relax.

Not too sure about the time limit.

It pisses you off, and you were really looking forward to it......but you couldn't be arsed?

Waited at first to see if the non modded imported version would work, by the time I found out I'd moved on. So yes was annoyed that I couldn't just buy it from the shop.

$168?!?

Eh, I refuse to buy anything from EB unless it's a last resort. The amount of people they suck in with their shocking prices annoys me.
It's the same price at JB.

Generally the Special Editions stay at the same price at all stores (GAME and JB generally being the other 2 from EB).

The Mafia 2 and Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Editions are going to be priced the same.

Yeah the Halo: Reach Legendary Edition is $200 everywhere. The normal editions are usually the ones that get the lower prices.

(Not The Beast anymore :()

This co op demo by gamespot has sealed the deal.
I'll buy this day one (or at least asap after relase)
Saw another pre order thing today with a syringe pen but I'll settle for the standard poverty pack issue. Looks like there could be a few good laughs in co op. Seems to be just 2 player though. Few more in the mall etc would be good.

Played Case 0 tonight for a couple of hours and it's a blast. Well worth a look if you like slashing through hordes of zombies. Only 400 MSP for a 4 hour story and 200 achievement points. I'll probably get a few playthroughs out of this

IGN US REVIEW - DEAD RISING 2
Closing Comments

Again, Dead Rising 2 has issues. It’s not the smoothest game and it can feel like the last one, however that doesn’t mean a thing when the game’s this much fun. Using a car battery and a Street Fighter mask to electrocute the undead and a set of knives and a pair of boxing gloves to make Wolverine claws are all great times. Watching Chuck get covered in blood as he slays thousands of zombies, changing outfits so that one minute you’re in a toddler clothes with a LEGO head and the next you’re in a sundress, and listening to completely whacked out boss stories – that’s what I remember about Dead Rising 2. Any issue the game might have just falls to the backburner.

7.0 Presentation
The loads could be shorter as they happen every time you change areas, but for the most part everything’s the way you remember it with looking at your watch, the onscreen arrow and so on.

7.0 Graphics
The zombies look good and the amount of clothing options are cool, but the blood can look flat, there are the framerate issues and stiff characters.

7.5 Sound
Some of the voices are awkward and forced, but the groans of the undead, weapon noises and the cheery mall music mingle together well.

8.5 Gameplay
It’s what people loved the first time around (bashing zombie with everyday junk while saving survivors) except it’s a bit more balanced -- plus you can combine weapons for max radness.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
This is a game that demands to be played over and over again so that you can see the different endings, find all the secrets, max out your level and so much more.

OVERALL 8.0

I have it pre-ordered on Steam. Unfortunately, it doesn't release until the 29th :(

Still, $40 was a very nice price from Capcom, and from what I've heard from the folks with reviewers copies, it's a great port. Also, I absolutely can not wait to see the mods that come out for this game:)

Played if before at a mates, was amazing I must say, loved killing the zombies with all the weapons, will be interesing once we figure out the missions and all that sh*t

Just found out single player has a time limit. I was having fun zombie killing & exploring the mall. Made my first combo weapon. Prior to that, the metal baseball bat is awesome as it comes with 20 balls. Awesome hitting them into a crowd and watching the ball bounce off peoples heads, pinball style.

Online multiplayer mini games are ok. I came 4/4 overall but the games were fun. Apparently there's 9 mini games.

Hired it but haven't had a chance to play yet. Looking forward to gaining sole access to the TV and smoking a joint and playing it with some wine. Should make for a relaxing night.

Glad that I only hired it.

Boring! Room of zombies, follow the arrow to another room of zombies. The weapons all feel the same and the most fun I had was with the crossbow.

This game pisses me off really. Due to time limits for saving people (outside of missions) You spend 5 minutes going from your save point, "running" to your destination & not worrying about zombies til one launches at you, somehow managing to grab on. At which point you have to spin the left analogue stick (god knows why cos it still takes 1 energy bar anyway)
If you die, you need to re load. Any zombies you've killed (or weapons grabbed/made) dissappear from your total zombies killed count.
That sucks as there are trophies for killing 500, 5,000, 53,596 & 72,000 so unless you want to run for 5 minutes to a save point everytime you kill some zombies it becomes a pain in the ass avoiding them so you don't die.
Can't wait til his energy bar increases cos he's piss weak & slow at the moment. I can't even jump/run my way from point A to point B without being scratched or grabbed once or twice.

HIRE this before buying. F.U capcom. :p

Dead Rising has always been hit or miss. I for one LOVE the save system as it's the only thing that makes the game scary at times.

And I haven't got too far, but I assume there will be a maintenance tunnel of sorts for you to drive in and get the zombie killing achievements much like the first.
