A few are saying a trade for their ever so awesome mid who has played one game Viv Mitchie would be a suitable swap!

They would LOVE to have Darling in their side if they can not admit it as he is a massive upgrade on Mayne.

VIV MITCHIE is definitely a game changer in the name departmnent but there dreaming. Ive wondered for the past few years why they dont give a stuff about there forward line. I know they tried and failed with Clarke. But pretty much just been up to Pav in the key forward stakes. Kepler Bradley does what few dare to dream but those dreams are a sorry affair.

They seem to be doing fine as it is.... they don't need to kick many goals because no one can kick goals against them.

They could do with a tall, but I don't think JD would be THAT big an upgrade on Mayne. He's a better player, but they'd be silly to trade for JD if their aim was to replace Mayne with him.

Agreed. If they're going to trade for a KPF they need to go for a 195cm+ player. Although not as good as Darling, Mayne is a suitable 3rd tall. No point trading a heap to get a small upgrade and such a similar player

It's the principle, man. Apparently they couldn't bare having a former Eagle in their side, even if it meant having a functional forward line.

FWIW they would be a million times better off with a mobile tall forward like Kennedy than Darling, but hey...

No I understand that, as would most teams. But hey last year we could have done with a Mayne-Darling forward line.
If there was a trade to get done in 05-06 era to get Pavlich I would have definitely said yes. Winning a premiership is more important than not having an ex-docker wear the blue and gold.

Will be interesting to see when the first player switches over during free agency or the next trade.

Ash smith and a 2nd roux swap would suffice surely

I wouldn't say no if that was the price. But WC shouldn't entertain using their 1st rounder for him. WC's 1st round pick requires one of Sheed, Crouch or Dunstan to bolster WC's mediocre midfield.

We only ever trade 2nd tier players between clubs. Im trying to think of players that have played for both clubs. Scott Waters, Daniel Metropolis, Brendan Fewster, Trent Carrol who am I missingo_O

David Hynes, Greg Harding, Brendan Krummel, Tony Godden, Dale Kickett off the top of my head. Spider Burton and Peter Mann were also on our list at one stage but never played.

would rather keep our picks :thumbsu:

I agree. Unless we somehow jag another first round pick (through a complex brown trade or something) why the hell would want to trade it away in draft that will net us an elite midfielder?

If we extrapolate the same logic the purple ****s are using, it's a straight swap of Tunbridge for Nate Fyfe.

Sounds fair to me, let's get it done ;)

Your a gun!

Far out I knew Kickett had played for 5 clubs but didn't know he played for us! 2 games.

Never thought much of Harding, Ive got footy stickers of Krummel at Hawthorn. Those were the days FOOTY STICKERS!

Footy stickers and the book were all time! I've Still got my 1999 one, unfortunately its still a little incomplete.

mmm.. do not want crouch. At best I see him being a slightly better version of priddis.

Also think we can do better then Dunstan. WHilst he'lle be a good player he is an accumulator rather then damaging.

Class of the boot and line breaking (some speed) ability should be addressed with our first pick which makes me think Sheed may be overlooked with this pick. Though sheed I'd seperate from Dunstan and crouch as I think he can be more damaging.

Awesome :thumbsu: Ive got I think 96-99. I remember spending all my monies on those stickers and you would continuously get the same ones, such a scam! Had the all australian stickers in the middle and state of origin bog. Used to love shiz like that. Ive got a heap of my old basketball cards too. Micheal Jordans, Larry Birds, Magic Johnsons, Charles Barkleys. Glory days. I kept a heap of old footy magazines, footy records and such there in a crate somewhere. Nostalgia its so in right now

I think WC need an inside bull to replace Kerr and/or Priddis. It'd be nice to have another Chris Masten running around, accumulating possessions and having a nice kick on him, but the need for a contested ball winner, who gets first possession and distributes to the Masten types, outweighs all else at present, IMO. Given the midfield's importance and WC's deficiency in this area, picking the best available IM workhorse/grunt would be the type I'm hoping WC select with their 1st round pick, so as to pick the best of what's available. WC's deficiency is too great to be relying on later picks than our first to come good.

Speed through the midfield is secondary to WC's need for a contested ball winner, IMO.

Yarran would join West coast in a heartbeat. One of his best friends plays here, cult hero and all, and it would bring him home.
I don't think he really likes it over there as much as he says and he would be a little like Hill, a crap load better and more consistent here.

We would love his speed and skill but the question is, what does Carlton want/need?
Goalkickers, rucks, mids and even some quality defenders mmmmmmmmm that's anything.

Whilst I agree that we need some better extraction I think we have some players in the team who can do this, an obvious flaw this season has been our delivery into the 50. We need more midfielders who can damage the opposition. As it is I don't think Masten (good link up player) is that damaging, nor scooter and there is a reason Priddis doesn't get tagged. No point of having excellent extractors if our delivery into the 50 is just going to hit the opposition. We have been killed on the rebound all season, our clearances haven't been that bad. We need class through the middle.

FWIW I think Sheed is not a bad option, but crouch I do not want at all.

Whilst I agree, the only issue with this is that these genuine inside grunts take longer to develop. It may be 5-8 seasons before they're at the level required to be able to hold down the job of main IM and contribute to a premiership tilt.

Ideally, Andrew Swallow could wake up one day and realise how shit it is to be at North. :thumbsu:
