How else would you explain it?

Most signs point to no, the rumour appears to have started on facebook where the poster made a whole number of outlandish claims, the Selwood "wants to go back to Vic" just being one.

I heard he also just enrolled his kids in Aquinas.

I was thinking more on the lines of Yarran or Lucas ( Would help out Gaff ) + draft pick for Scott Selwood. However if Selwood isn't asking/demanding a trade then that wouldn't be enough for him.
