Did Sydney cheat?

Definitely cheated. I was near the bench when the guy on the phone to Horse said to the medical staff "Horse says Brisbane are looking dangerous, we need a break in play so get that stretcher out there straight away and alert the umps"

I was disgusted by us using such a dirty cheating ploy. We deserve to have the four points taken off us. I sending back my membership and letting the VFL know that I'm willing to be a witness to what has occurred.

I also thought Sinclair faking an injury as he was running onto the ball in the goal square was also a dirty cheating ploy.

Has it been confirmed that Sinclair was suffering from cramp only and not an injury?

If so it looks pretty suspect.

I think the free kick that Allen 'high tackle' christensen got was more of an outrage than this, There was zero contact above the shoulders and he threw his head back like he'd copped a big roundhouse to the face. Correct me if im wrong but did he not get a goal from that?

I ran out of fingers. They didn't require addressing because each and every one of them lacked any basis of fact. It was a pure troll.

I really enjoy intelligent banter on Bigfooty but that happens rarely. This is a really low quality thread full of snipers trying to get the boot in so I'm not really taking it very seriously.

ACL's and knee injuries don't usually get stretchers, its mostly for concussions and broken legs.

All the nasty little snipers have come out in this thread, haven't they, from both sides of the case - Sydney haters and Sydney lovers both.

For those of us at the game, it was an extremely odd thing to see. I haven't even seen junior footy games halted when the ball is that far away from an injured player. I doubt this is a conspiracy but it was nevertheless a pretty unusual moment to witness live.

As I saw it there just seemed to be no need to stop play - ball had moved on well away from the player, clearly not an unconscious or head injury case, the rest of the players from both sides were actively playing on upfield. If the ball came back, the umpires would have had ample time to call a halt.

I would say that an umpire has a question or two to answer. It won't amount to anything anyway but worth asking some questions. A potential minefield otherwise.

I tend to agree. I think the umpire closest to the play panicked and stopped play when he heard that the stretcher was coming out (the umpires are mike'd and have an earpiece so they can communicate with each other). However the fact that the swans had a trainer out there who would have known well that Sinclair was not seriously injured and yet they still elected to bring the stretcher out, tells me this was gamesmanship at best and deliberate cheating at worst.

It's pretty futile trying to argue with trolls when their only motivation is to start a shitfight. There are plenty of great posters but not in this thread.

I suspect its so far from the truth as to be ludicrous. People coming into the thread saying we cheated aren't doing it after careful consideration. It's all hotheaded ranting because they have some imaginary axe to grind with Sydney and its not their team's integrity being questioned. If their team was in the same boat they would have a very different opinion.

I should clarify. I don't mean everyone hates my club. It's more that on Bigfooty if someone suggests another club besides yours did something untoward then the default stance is always "Absolutely" so I'm not putting a lot of creedance in this thread.
