Disposal Efficiency going Inside 50

Does anyone have stats for disposal efficiency going inside 50 or inside 50 kicks to advantage?. Just wanted to know where we rank vs all the other teams as i always thought it was something we lack.

Not sure of the stats but I agree with you. I think that in general our side lacks composure more so than skill. We tend to hesitate with disposal at many times rather than set the ball to the advantage side of our forwards and at the most advantaged time.

It's definitely an issue.
Thankfully we have the best set of crumbers in the league to clean it up.

But I would love to see us go inside 50 and hit up leads with precision a bit more cause its definitely something we arent great at despite our good midfield.

Too often were all too happy to just bang it in and hope for the best.

Our disposal efficiency going inside 50 is directly related to our ability to take a contested mark inside 50. Fix that, and you'll fix our kicking efficiency.

Yeah I don't think it's skill. It's the composure and the confidence. And that confidence comes from having the forwards to deliver to.

I don't wanna rag on our tall guys or anything but I remember we were able to give Fev some silver service because our guys were confident if they put it out in front of him he could do the rest.

As Alec said, get our contested marking on the up, hopefully general confidence will follow also and it will fix itself.

Not sure why, but I seem to recall us being one of the better sides when going i50.

Once inside 50 we had the best conversion rate last year.

If this is in reference to recent performances then you'd best observe the following:

1) A lack of forward structure. Permenant best 22 forwards have played together with relative infrequency. We have seen little of Betts and Garlett and less of Waite and Walker

2) A considerably less potent midfield. The guys who have been passing inside 50 haven't been who will be passing for the majority of the year. Our leading Inside 50 players last year were Simpson, Judd, Murphy, Robinson, Scotland. These guys haven't played together this preseason, nor have they had significant game time.

3) New forwards. The guys who they are kicking to aren't the same, and have different leading patterns, preferances and strengths. Midfielders have to learn where the forward wants it, this takes time.

nope blue and silver. got nothing to do with this year. haven't watched any of the nab cup games... Just something i've noticed in the last few years that when the ball gets kicked into the 50 we don't seem to hit up leads like other teams

i am pretty sure we had a very high conversion rate as opposed to other teams although we did have our moments where we looked ordinary.

If we keep trying to move the ball along the boundry line from defence then our disposal efficiency inside 50 is going to be pretty poor because the opposition will flood back in epic numbers like what has been happening in the nab cup so far. I am sure come round 1 we will be moving the ball quickly and directly from defence to attack and the rubbish play of moving the ball along the boundry line will happen fewer times.

We have often faltered under pressure, which obviously comes from the better teams, in recent times. This is clearly due to the number of options, particularly tall ones. We are shaping up as having an improving Hammer and (hopefully) a fit Waite. This releases Walker and Thornton with only the 3rd and 4th tall defender to beat. We should be able to take the grabs or, at least, bring it to ground for Eddie, Jeffy and others to crumb. This provides players up the ground with confidence, that if forced to throw it on to the boot, we can at very least make a contest. Walks had a great year in 2011, but suffered from being double teamed by taller and stronger opponents
