We'll play at GMHBA i reckon, 40K is big enough for us.

I'd actually back us in at the G though

I have a funny feeling that Geelong can win it all this year. When they take it up a notch and get their game going they are almost unbeatable. And they play pretty good at the MCG too.

I’m not convinced we even make top 4. Our midfield is simply not good enough.
Been soundly beaten against any half decent midfield.
Rankine and Soligo need to regain form in the 2nd half to support Dawson against side with a quality midfield. Berry replacing Crouch has been a positive and Peatling has been our 2nd best midfielder after Dawson.

Agreed on all that but we’re just far from dominant. Brisbane’s midfield destroyed ours. Crazy that we won that.
Hate to enter a PF or GF with such nervousness around our midfield.
Our list management team hasn’t used 1 high pick on a decent mid in the last 10 years, it’s so frustrating that we’ve got such excellent defence and forward line (yes that’s due to them), but such a bog average midfield. Teams have worked out that to tag Dawson goes a long way to a loss for us. Peatling needs to stop getting bloody suspended too.

After this week, we will be equal with four others, only 1 game plus percentage above 9th.

The pragmatic view is that we are by no means certain to make the 8 and should be concentrating on that, rather than thinking about the 4 or higher.
Thats the glass half empty view.

So many 50/50 games it's hard to call and you can make a case either way in most games.

That run of three games against the Hawks, Suns and Port which I have given us wins against could all easily go the other way and we miss finals. Unless everything goes wrong we should win 4 of these without too much trouble. That gets us to 13 wins.

Richmond (win)

Melbourne (win)

Bulldogs (lose)

Suns (win) this is 50/50 though, the Suns are a good team

Port (win) Lucky to win last time we played them

Hawks (win) They will field a better team that the last game so no certainty

Eagles (win)

Collingwood (lose) probably 50/50 at home

Kangaroos (win)

Been thinking a more accurate view of the pointy end of the ladder during the byes is sorting by losses:

CWD - 2 losses 134%
Geel - 4 losses 133.8%
GC - 4 losses 110%
Bris - 4.5 losses 110.4%
Ad - 5 losses 135.2%
Haw - 5 losses 111.6%
Freo - 5 losses 110%
WB - 6 losses 127.7%
GWS - 6 losses 107.6%
Obviously! I do that all the time.

5-7th... We could pull out an 8-10th if we stick with the back slappin' selection policy.
Exit week one finals.
And hopefully goodbye to the current regime.

If you put $1 on us to make the top 8 right now - you will win 2cents. We should be an absolute lock for the 8 right now and should 100% be aiming for a top 4 finish.

Yes, but my point is that there is no room for complacency. The coaches/team should continue with the week-by-week plan and not drink any bathwater. Then, the 8 or 4 will take care of themselves. Any complacency and drop-off in intensity could produce a run of "unlucky" losses, or worse, which could easily have us drop out of the 8.

That's stating the obvious.

Squiggle ladder predictor still has us finishing 3rd behind Geelong and Collingwood. Still playing pies in qualifying final at the g.
With Geelong losing, Squiggle now has Collingwood finishing top, Geelong in second, us third and Brisbane 4th. So now we’d play Geelong (presumably at the G?) in the qualifying.

We’ve won 9

Should beat Richmond North and West Coast. That’s 12

Then need 1 win from Port Melbourne Gold Coast Hawthorn Collingwood Bulldogs

I think we will end up with 16 or 17 wins. So top two

That's what my predicted ladder came up with. Geelong at the G? or at shithole stadium? Both scenarios are awful.
Would be gloriously Crows-like to blow top 4 by losing to Norf in the last round.
This has had me concerned (losing to North in the Last) since the beginning of the season when North showed some quality football in some qtrs. It being their last game, and at home, I'm thinking it will be a GF for them after improving over the season. That and ****ing Clarkson can beat us at will. They made it hard the last time we played when we got up by 6 goals outscoring them by 1.5 goals per qtr and couldn't put them away properly.

I actually went to the North v Port game a month or so ago. North are definitely not a walk over. They are actually extremely competitive

We did lose Rachele early which does impact our forward structure.
