Not to think too far ahead, but if we played the cats week 1 of finals, would it be at GMHBA or the G?

Normally MCG, but given Pies game will be at the MCG, AFL may make us play at the Cattery. Not to think too far ahead, but if we played the cats week 1 of finals, would it be at GMHBA or the G?
We'll play at GMHBA i reckon, 40K is big enough for us.Normally MCG, but given Pies game will be at the MCG, AFL may make us play at the Cattery.

Depends. AFL would want two games at the MCG, minimum. If Hawthorn and/or Dogs qualified for a home final, along with Pies, they'd put Cats v Crows at Kardinia.
Geelong wont want that, we'd prefer it.Nah will be MCG
We travel in huge numbers and a large VIC following
The easiest part of our season is to come but losing to Hawthorn tonight may well have cost us the all important Top 2. Not that we were box seat but if we had a chance we needed to get this one.

I'd actually back us in at the G though
I think we will get there. But the real pressure will be in the finals.
5th or 6th, if it is a home EF vs Hawthorn or GWS we'll be probably one and done but should beat a side like the Bulldogs, Carlton, Fremantle, Gold Coast (at AO) etc.
Then the true test is the away games. I think Collingwood finish top (should win all remaining games going into the finals I think) and will go straight through to a prelim. But an away semi vs Brisbane at the Gabba will be difficult.
4th place and an away QF vs the Pies, we'll go in with belief but will probably fall short.

I agree, but Geelong will want it thereExtremely unlikely a 40k stadium would fit demand.
Two minor round games at G against Essendon and Collingwood got 46k and 68k respectively. A final would even be more.
I agree, but Geelong will want it there
That might not actually be as bad as it seems. Geelong's game plan isn't really suited to their home ground which is why they haven't been as dominant there in the last couple of years. We should've won there last year if Nicks didn't do his usual protect the lead shit when we had momentum.Normally MCG, but given Pies game will be at the MCG, AFL may make us play at the Cattery.
We'll make finals... just, but tonight proved why we're perennial pretenders.
i don't think we make finals.. but if we do, guarantee we will lose week 1, by under a goal, despite more shots on goal to a Geelong, Hawks or Collingwood. Money for jam if yr a gambler.
Now that I'm a bit more rational and sober after last night, let's be realistic. We're sitting 9-4, 4th and have a very strong percentage with a decent run-home. We'll make it, but the question of how far we'll make it has been answered. If we finish 5th-6th, I think we can get past the Dogs or Giants in a home final, but the semis looks to be our limit. Nicks is way too risk-adverse and players still lack the composure in high-pressure situations (especially away against decent opposition) for us to go any further than that. Sure, at the start of the season, I would absolutely taken a SF appearance, but it's frustrating when you know we're capable of even better.
My updated prediction - us losing to Bulldogs (A) and Collingwood (H). It is going to be tight no matter what.

Probably - he got more out of an overall less talented side, IMO
Let’s not forget the 2016 season too, where I think we were just as good as in 2017 (except for a top 3 choke in our history against the Eagles in the last round)
Oh undoubtedly yes.
What these posts seem to show is a distinct inability to remember how white hot dominant we were as a side in 2017.
We went into the GF as nearly unbackable favourites. Until Clarkson joined up with Hardwicke as a second coach, and the VFL’s ‘it’s Richmond’s time’ train kicked into action and ensured we were never going to win it.
I think they're completely different coaches
Pyke is a very good tactician who seemed to have absolutely piss poor man management skills. Nicks is a very good man manager who seems to have absolutely piss poor tactical skills.
When we were winning Pykes people skills were able to be overlooked in the name of success. Once that started going downhill it became a bigger and bigger issue until his position became untenable.
Huh?
Davis was brought in to overhaul our strategy.
Don't need to be Einstein to work out who was behind the change of game plans...
