The hypothesis doesn't make sense. World Cup only goes for a month and in the middle of the AFL season. Not like I'm giving up on watching my team win a Premiership for it. I can enjoy both.
But if the option is Hawthorn winning a flag, or just watching the World Cup, it's pretty clear what the answer is.
Lol no. Only watched about 20 min of WC so far and I've already seen 6 players go down appearing to have been shot during regulation pieces of play and no goals. Hang on some Morocco player just got hit, hope he survives. Thats makes it 7.

I was totally thinking West Coast when I clicked thread because Soccer to me is just so far off my radar and no I couldn't care less.
No sports trump my interest in AFL. The only thing that decreases my interest is when Essendon are crap, then I feel less like watching non Essendon games.

As a sports lover the soccer WC is up with the Olympics as the pinnacle of sporting events for me. I love seeing the whole planet coming together and bonding over sport.
I wouldn't choose a WC game over watching Freo, but definitely over a neutral AFL game.
As mentioned though, it's not really a fair comparison when it's once every four years vs a long annual H&A comp.

Lol I agree the whole thing is a farce and 100s of millions of lemmings have been sucked in but I would watch us in the final, unless the Hawks were playing in which case I would check the scores every 10 min.
