I'm not trolling anything, it's an honest observation.

Lyon may have made the difference for a flag 2-3 years ago, but I doubt you have the cattle right at this moment.

Where is your next Pavlich and McPharlin? Where are the big bodied defenders that are required for a team coached in Lyons style?

Three years ago when Rhys Palmer was our best midfielder?

You haven't heard of Alex Silvagni?

Big bodied defenders liike Zach Dawson?

I have to say I'm staggered by the run this is getting in the media. Channel 7 are calling it the biggest story of the year on the half time show during tonights game. Coach gets sacked, new coach appointed. I just don't get why this is so big?

It's big because not one of the media hacks saw it coming or even thought to make it up a few weeks ago, preceded with the line "it is understood..".

Chops...as I've said...how do you know that? How do you know next season wouldn't = flag?

Have you heard Harvey try to string a sentence together SHibz? It's like he's been drinking Emu Export since dawn.

It was a bad appointment just like Connolly, thankfully Lyon takes over a much better list thanks to Lloyd and Bondy.

Ross seems to be a divisive coach- people tend to either rate him highly or not at all.

Personally I think he's very intelligent and tactically sound, if a bit stubborn at times. Great move by Freo in my eyes, for too long Fremantle have accepted mediocrity and Harvey was at best a mediocre coach (not to mention a media liability). Once the dust settles I think this will be a strong move for the new-look professional Fremantle the Steves & co are trying to introduce.

All the coaches realise this is a cut-throat business and it isn't like Harvs is walking away empty handed, he gets a cool 500g's and most likely an assistant's job with Sheeds or Hirdy to walk into. Most of you also acknowledge he likely would have been moved on after next year's season, so you've spared him months of media and supporter scrutiny and associated stress.

In any case it will be very interesting to see the direction Lyon takes the club in.

On a lighter note, the news just showed a flash of one of the 'outraged' female Fremantle supporters who complained that the club was just "pissing in each other's pockets". I lol'd

I saw that. She was decked out in the old gear too.

While I have nothing against a passionate Fremantle supporter it is very weak to welcome a new coach like that. The decision is not going to change and Ross Lyon really hasn't done anything wrong. (Other then stating that he was going to stay at St Kilda.)

Still, more than 24 hours on I am still uneased by the decision. But then I realize that for the first time ever we not only have an experienced AFL coach, but a proven winning AFL coach with supreme finals experience to back that up. Any Freo supporter that does not welcome this is as dumb as wood.

"Afraid of change" comes to mind. Why are there too many West Australians like this?

Probably stems from being the most remote major city in the world... don't forget daylight savings is evil, will fade your curtains and upset the cows.

Am I the only one who actually thinks the Perth cactus is kinda cool? Looks strange at the moment with all the construction work around it but once its all done I reckon it'd be alright!

Yes, yes I think you are. Oh well, at least the scene kiddies milling about Forrest Chase will have something to sit down on while they smoke.

well thanks for those who supported my OPINION, which I am fully entitled to! NO THANKS to those who feel the need to call me names, or denigrate me, your posts were passed over. I have not changed my mind btw. I would have loved us to win a GF because of the constant struggle, disrespect from other team members and the media insults throughout the years, I was drawn to Fremantle Football Club because we were the UNDERDOG team in W.A. Now if we do ever win a GF, it will be because we are just another corporate enterprise, with no feeling, no passion, no loyalty, no integrity, no ethics. If you all agree with this, then fine. I will NOT. Why?? Because I may as well stayed an Eagles supporter and gained the same hollow satisfaction at winning a GF.

FFS, i wish you had said this at the begining, another ****ing ship jumper.

Piss off back up the road you turncoating.

you obviously lack the intestinal fortitude for this caper.

Isn't an underdog someone nobody expects to win? Stacking things against ourselves in vain hope of coming out on top might make for a feelgood story - but I'm more confident in a top down driven view towards giving us every possible chance of success.

Opinions are great, but you don't make much sense at all. Supporting the underdog is all well and good on a one-off e.g. Stosur v Williams. If you ONLY want to support the underdog then by implication you are saying that you will only support teams who aren't ever successful, and who never make strategic moves to become successful. Richmond.

Yup, top dog beats underdog every day of the week.

Hey Sharon!

How does losing for all of your life feel?

Now I understand why we have supporters that clap our losses.

"Don't worry boys, you'll come back the bigger and better underdog next week!!!"
