I have to say I'm staggered by the run this is getting in the media. Channel 7 are calling it the biggest story of the year on the half time show during tonights game. Coach gets sacked, new coach appointed. I just don't get why this is so big?

It was done in the most professional manner available given the circumstances. (ie: CEO & Senior board members took employee aside & terminated his contract in a truthful, face to face meeting.)
Just because "we" weren't consulted is completely irrelevant.

What would you rather have seen that could have limited the fallout from the Harvey sacking, that would also have been best for the club?

Obviously Harvey continuing was not the best scenario for the club.

We'd have to go through it the following year in any case.

I have lost faith in Harvey's game plan. I think we need to get someone else in the develop a new one. That being the starting point it becomes a case of the sooner the better. The board obviously felt the same way.

You can't win a flag without being able to organise a pre-season for instance.


You are just continually dodging the hard questions. And like those that seem to have something against Lyon, or wanted Harvey to continue, are hiding behind this "act" without actually being able to back up the complaint. It's complaining for complaining's sake.

I think we have a better team than St Kilda, but they do better than us. I think our list has a better top but the bottom is so WAFL it's ridiculous. The Saints players aren't better, they are just better drilled.

That's coaching and role discipline.

I'm enjoying listening to Lyon's former manager having a cry over not getting a big slice of his new deal and calling him out for utilising the contract clause he wrote in for him.

Anyone that thinks Harvey is a better coach than Lyon has rocks in their head.
We got the best man available, Lyon is easily one of the top 3 or 4 coaches in the league.
I dont care what we paid for him or how we did it, people need to toughen up and accept what has happened. This is how the real world is people. I got sacked from a job (once) but moved on and became a better person for it.
I am self employed now and doing really well for myself and family but if anyone wants to sack me and pay me approx $500k to have a rest next year feel free to do it
