Kevin Sheehan says: Anton is a versatile type who makes good position and has a good work ethic. He has clean hands and his pace is also a feature. He represented Western Australia at the under-18 championships.
In his own words
What type of player are you?
I am a key-position player who can play forward or back. I have mostly played forward this year (either FF or CHF) and as a temporary ruckman. I am a leading target who can connect the midfield with the forward line and can also kick goals.
Can we take him with our last pick or will that be to late?
Rookie list? PSD?
Btw, is Blayne Wilson a KPD or just a tall defender ala Spang.
Neither. Spangher was a third tall, had the height but not the strength to be a KPD.
Wilson is 187cm. Ala Waters and Butler.
Wilson played FB in Teal cup games.
Will the rule change of 3 interchange, 1 sub, affect our drafting strategy?
If so, how?
Gaff's endurance will become more valuable.
Heppell's versatility likewise.
......ok?After considering for a long time, i think i am on the Gaff wagon. Here is how i see it
Gaff is the girl who is your best friend, she is smart, beautiful, funny, caring, you have in jokes, you talk all the time, and she is secretly into you but you never consider her for a relationship because she doesn't have that wow or X factor. Now i know Polec is quick off a wing, and Heppell has a great kick, and Lynch has great endurance for a tall, but I think this is a very important draft and we don't want to screw it up. Thats why i think we should play it safe
We always hear the word "upside". to me it means little. all players will improve in an AFL system and while some may improve more than others it is incredibly hard to judge that from this early on. Mcdougall and Sampi had upside. Gaff has consistently beaten his opponents, which in the end is all you can do, has destroyed draft camp, and clearly has all the tools to be a very good to top line AFL player. Well thats what i think anyway...
......ok?
We have a fairly "safe" young midfield already with players who know how to get the ball and can do it all day. Gaff doesn't add anything different to that. Heppell (through his excellent skills and marking) and Polec (through his pace, goalkicking and flair) do add something different, things we sorely lack.
Friend zone sucks. After considering for a long time, i think i am on the Gaff wagon. Here is how i see it
