Im happy to back the recruiters in, however I didn't have anywhere near the reservations with Lever that I do with Burton.

If we think he is fit enough then take a chance, you're right though I do have huge queries.

No doubt huge ?????? .......have to trust club Medico's & we have huge advantage in Liptak and home state tracking of everything to do with Burton

Basically yeah, I just think we have to be 200% sure. Are the medics at the club the same as when Potential was there ? Similar style injury.

IIRC head Doctor has changed ......but also big improvements in sports medicine

ACL's used to be almost career ending ...but they used to minimally impact players athleticism ....now players can almost retain 100% athleticism

That said, Burton's injury was one serious injury & IMO if the club thinks there's a 20% risk, they won't pick him

I've got enough faith that if we pick him we have done our research properly. I think that the club has made a lot of good front office calls. Lever was an inspired choice.

Think Milera will our first pick. Don't know if Francis will slip to us, he's just too good. Hell I'd draft Francis at 3.

I still miss Trent Potential, he was a damn good footballer.

Francis and Milera are my first preference (I don't even mind which one).

But, If we can't get Francis or Milera at 9, maybe we just load up with tall forwards McKay @ 9 & Burton @ 13?
This completes the forward line for the future.
Get a tall defender as back up in rookie draft.

Then in future years just load up on mids and rookie list another ruckman next year to replace Lowden.

I'd personally grab Curnow and Collins. Ah Chee is probably the one I least want of those 6. If we somehow manage Curnow and Burton, that would be awesome, but I'd assume Carlton would take the one we don't (unless McKay and Weitering fill their need for talls and they decide to go small).
