I assume all this footage is from last year as a bottom ager? Probably would've been set for a lot more midfield time this year. Looks like he loves the contest. Smart in traffic, plus some dash and knack for a goal.

Kid looks an absolute star. Will now be angry if we don't take him

yeah. i've spent some nights watching highlights, reading reviews, etc.
This kid looks like the best that will be available at our picks, and he adds something we sorely need in terms of game impact.

Feels like that Dusty/Danger type role where they're strong in the middle but also effective upforward.
Classic pick for us (the hybrid mid), but one suited to it.

Same here. Looks to have put on a bit of size this past year too.

Will be able to play forward to start and then transition into more midfield time

Should we downgrade a pick, what’s everyone’s opinion on Isaiah Winder? Shapes as a Shane Edwards type. I think he suits us, could slot in as a small forward straight away.

this is where i like O'Driscoll as the 3rd pick. Can go inside, but we could start him off HBF or Wing next year (like Heppell) to transition him to AFL
And we have our mids all over the ground

O'Driscoll
Draper Shiel McGrath
Merrett Heppell Langford
Perkins CHF Parish

Plus Caldwell on the bench.

wonder if collingwood would match a McInnes bid @ 6
I don't know that they would. I must admit I didn't know he was Collingwood academy!?
They're in tatters at the moment too, could be fun sinking it in.

Would be happy to go to bombers and expects to go around our picks

sounds like we may have been in contact

Perhaps we view Brand/Zerk as the FB options & looking at him as a CHB/swingman type.
Can't imagine we go 2x KPD's with Brand + Eyre also on the cards.

So Reid sounds unlikely.
Cox, Perkins + O'Driscoll?

Would be happy with this.

Still think it's likely that we try and move back with pick 8. But there's a chance O'Driscoll might be available where we move back to as well

only thing i can think is we swap with Pies. Move them up for 16 & future 1st.
they get ahead of potential McInnes bid & protect future pick from Daicos bid..

or GWS try move up?

I think Pies is most likely. Would be a great result if O'Driscoll is still available there but I think there's still enough good players that fit our needs that last to 16 to make it a great move for us.

GWS is a maybe and is probably good because most likely will still get O'Driscoll if it's pick 10 or 13. Probably depends how keen they are to really move up.

Surely the only way we don't take Perkins is if somebody has a reach and he goes top 5
Yep and if that were to happen I'd say we would be getting some pretty good offers from clubs like GWS wanting to trade up for the player that slips, most likely Philips

6 into 10 & 13 from GWS if they really wanted Phillips.
Would be funny given the whack McCartney gave us that he comes to us to trade up

McCartney strikes me as the kind of bloke who would cut his nose off to spite his face when it comes to Essendon.

If getting Phillips means trading up with us, he might just pass on Phillips. He could also just offer the same picks to Hawthorn, and see if they bite

That's not the only way...

I'm on the bandwagon now.

He spoke very well for a kid and has been working hard on improving deficiencies in his downtime instead of coasting along on talent alone.

Weighs 88kg now which is much better, and hopefully this reduces some of the risk with taking him as a tall prospect.

Also values his relationships within the club very highly.

Bring him in.
