this is a fair point.

Who was the last truly elite player we drafted?
Lloyd?

Personally, Cale Hooker. Had we had the team for his touches to matter he’d have been better than McGovern.

Went forward to win us games as well, something I haven’t seen McGovern do

I don’t think I’ve ever followed an AFL draft where everyone has such a vague idea about what’s going to happen.

Bruhn, Reid and Henry 🤢

Just watched the video. I feel like he has very little confidence in his phantom draft. Hawks into cox and Perkins. They even interviewed Perkins again today. And apparently we’re keeping our cards close to our chests.

Something with Perkins is clearly turning clubs away hes the slider it seems
He’s not a slider though, twomey was the one who said he could go top 4 and now he has him at 16. Clubs don’t move their orders around like that, especially if the bloke hasn’t played any footy this year. If we don’t pick him he won’t get past Adelaide and north.

Good. He normally has a pretty good sense of who teams like so was a little worried when I saw this.

I think Perkins is probably the only one we'd be worried about going early as it means Phillips is probably the most likely to slip, which although he seems good is the exact player we don't need so can see us "cooling on him".

Staggering how many experts on here can a) rate a whole crop of players they have probably never seen play in numerical order and b) not rate a haul of players that they again have probably never seen play and have absolutely no idea how they will perform in an AFL setting...

People on here might not want to read Twomeys latest phantom draft

No Reid or Perkins this could be a bad place to be for 4 months

You mean no Cox instead of Reid?

People have seen plenty and still regularly get it wrong. EVERYONE here can identify list needs though.

Of all years, this is the one to trust that RFK and Dodoro know what they are doing.

I mean, lets be honest, how many of us have watched a single full game featuring a bunch of guys who havent kicked a ball in anger in a competitive setting for 12 months like Perkins/Cox/Reid/Henry/Bruhn/etc.

Let alone pretend we have an educated opinion on their prowess and prospects at AFL level (unless your username is eDPS).

We are all guessing at this point based on what we read second, often third hand in the media. Dodoro has had some dud picks but i am gonna guess he and RFK, conservatively, know roughly 1000% more than i do about these guys, particularly in a year like 2020.

If they pick Bruhn/Reid/Henry as a trio, then selcome aboard lads.

my only concern is Bruhn of that list.
2 years of limited exposure. Similar dimensions to the mids we have.

Reid i like.
Henry looks good. Though i think we need depth and should trade that pick into 2 if they're on offer.

A lot of people's views here are driven by the club's aversion to big body mids that we have in our minds will change the destiny of the club once we get such as specimen. As such, "we" are desperate for a Perkins or McInnes. And we think Cox could become superman whereas Reid is a bit vanilla. Am very happy to leave it to the recruiting guys to make the right choices here as I certainly don't know enough to second guess what they might do. We have 3 good picks and will be able to bring in 3 guys with terrific prospects (subject to pick trading of course). Maybe 1 of the top 5 slides and we get them, maybe we take a punt on someone unexpected. Am happy to see it play its course.*

* I reserve the right to throw a tanty against Dodo later of course.

What gives you more insight than Twomey has?

Slide more so in the last 2 weeks. He was hyped as a top 6 pick and potentially number 4 at the hawks. He was then said he might slip through to North at 11 and now its 16 at the pies.

I think a year like this clubs are moving their ladders pretty quickly and yes it clearly happens

I agree with your first point. The second point, I'm not sure they can to be honest...
I think we need a big-bodied inside mid as well as more Key-position players. How did I do?

At the end of the day, this is a footy forum for discussing football. You probably can't be too upset if you see people talking about it on here.
