Both scenarios atm have us taking M.Johnson at 13 which would be a huge get

Also if were able to snag 36 + 38 from pies (As per above)

Currently Twomeys late mail top 30 doesnt have Arlo Draper, Leek Aller, Z.Taylor, Judson Clarke, B.Hough or M.Roberts in the 30 for example. Plus the Small Forwards which we would grab L.Rankine 184cm, Kai Lohmann 185cm, P.Curtis 185cm, Eamon Wilkinson, C.Murley, Preston

Johnson seems a bit too good to be true to me.

Why would both WA clubs pass on a local with his ability?

Otherwise it would be a welcome development to add another big West Aussie inside mid back to the list.

He will be an inside midfielder that has the ability to spread. Similar to Bont and Pendles style (A good balance of inside/outside ball)
Where have you seen this? I don’t think I’ve seen Johnson mentioned anywhere as having inside midfield potential.

Said he was upset and disappointed that Gws havent interviewed me. Moreorless he’s a bit pissed off cause he’s probably going to go at 4 and he thinks he should be at 1. Come on you’ve known for the last 3 years you’ll be playing at collingwood it doesn’t matter where you get picked and you’ve already been given a 4 year deal. Bit ‘me me me’ saying you expect gws to pick up the phone and tell you how good you are when they have no reason to do it. The number you’re drafted is irrelevant from the moment you walk through the door at the club in day 1

Just for the record... I coached him during a couple of junior years of footy and this attitude does not surprise me at all. Unbelievable player who won games off his own boot, but there was a reason we never made him captain.

I thought Johnson was very much an outside player?

Not surprising, I’ve heard the same thing about his personality from multiple sources. Unbelievably talented, but he’ll get pulled down a peg or 2 coming into an afl environment.

Can someone remind me… are we out of the second round because we used that in a trade for Caldwell?

every year we are like...lets trade next years 2nd, theres things we need now now now - it can be next years problem

then next year we are always fumbling about trying to scrape a second from somewhere because surprise surprise, theres another kid!

perhaps the lightbulb moment comes when you realise, there are good kids every year

Kicking that can down the road is a favoured past time of list managers world wide.

Mostly because he doesn't really use his size in the contest or play with much intensity. Different player but reminds me of Langford in that sense.

The real lightbulb comes when you get into the business of can-provision.
