I have watched the war room videosYeah, but you made up the narrative about why Carlton traded up and that we panicked and chose Smith. Watch our war room videos and you will see how hell bent we were on Smith as soon as we landed pick 3.
That part has nothing to do with evaluating winners.
We can only dream that they will reach the incredible heights of brownless and bairstow and couch and jhe Clarke and bowesDon't be so down. Somebody's gotta be this generation's Matthew Knight, Wayne Campbell and Richo!
I have watched the war room videos
Not completely sold they where as authentic as you do
But in any case let’s see how this all plays out

This is a superdraft without playing any games? This was a superdraft and we have a proven recruiting team. The Gold Coast draft was a weak draft.
I think if you had 7 first round picks you'd be calling it a super duper draft. This is a superdraft without playing any games?
No professional thinks it’s a super draft. The draft was commended for its depth, not its top end. People got carried away with the hype.I think if you had 7 first round picks you'd be calling it a super duper draft.
Ask the professionals , not me.
It was labelled a super draft. No professional thinks it’s a super draft. The draft was commended for its depth, not its top end. People got carried away with the hype.
Stange. I heard multiple experts call it that in the lead up....No professional thinks it’s a super draft. The draft was commended for its depth, not its top end. People got carried away with the hype.
Most years we have a super draft per the mediaIt was labelled a super draft.
Not really. Most years we have a super draft per the media
Same thingNo professional thinks it’s a super draft. The draft was commended for its depth, not its top end. People got carried away with the hype.
For its depth, but not its top end quality. Ask any draft expert, they’ll tell you at least 3 players last year would have gone #1 this year (Reid, Walter, McKercher). A few top 10 selections would not have gone top 10 in recent years. Not really.
This one was commended for it's quality, unsure why you're saying it wasn't?
This draft was known as not having many topline/ star talent but having a very good group of players all the way out to 30ish. It's a good draft to go heavy in for that reason. Not really.
This one was commended for it's quality, unsure why you're saying it wasn't?
I scratched my head at people saying this.Just on this. It's been debated ad nauseam on our board, but we don't just need mids. We needed a mid from that top 7, one that can come in and play day 1 and make a difference. When they went before our pick, why grab any mid, we have a heap on the list already.
Do you think everyone in those rooms was in there 'on merit'?Why should a person be in there if it's not on merit? Very dangerous path to go down.
Exactly. Our board went into a bit of a meltdown a few drafts ago when we picked a kid called Wanganeen-Milera, over the mid we supposedly needed, in Ben Hobbs, and a lot of them were then demanding we pick “two mids” with our first two picks this year.I scratched my head at people saying this.
Why would they Draft a mediocre midfielder over a gun that plays another position? That would have been strange.
Especially considering these kids from this Draft won't realistically even barely get a game next year, let alone make a significant impact.
No. Richmond supporters need their validation now. Are you new to Bigfooty?Shouldn't this thread be done in 5 years time

Going to be requesting a trade back after a year JHF styleDo any of the Richmond posters have any idea why the Tigs didn't take Reid with one of their first rounders? Vic Metro MVP who bled yellow and black. Also a skill set that would have helped to cover the loss of Bolton and/or Rioli.
