audio of press conference is on sportal. Hird says something like 'we will leave him another week, and then bring him back a week or two after that' which would be round 3 at the earliest. This also means however, that he proabably has an injury rather than not making the team, so his JS might still be reasonable.

Batchelor v Puopolo (Have the other back rookies but with Hibberd out need to trade him to one of these)

I reckon Batchelor has better job security and the ball should be in the Tigers defence quite a bit. Puopolo seems to be fighting with a few others for the same position so could be in and out of the side.

What are peoples views?

Agree although there is a reasonable chance Batchelor will be used as a sub.

Yeh he probably will be which will effect his score. I'm starting to swing back to Hibberd with the news he will be back in round 2/3. With 3 on the bench should be able to cover even if he misses next week.

With no rookie Rucks selected I guess it is an interesting question as to which will be the first rookie ruckman to be picked and string a few games together.

It doesn't look like any are even close to be honest - especially with the likes of Keefe not getting picked with the pies having plenty of players to come back.

Certainly going to be an area of research for me over the day.

Keeffe's an emergency at least, but you're probably right, unless Reid or Tarrant goes down he won't play that much this year (I reckon he'll probably about 5 or 6 games this year).

Bailey's still probably the best bet.

ill say liber due to him starting as a rover and the bulldogs seem to rate him very highly. But really you cant go wrong with either of them.

I see Jarrad irons has got the nod, still 50/50 on whether to pick him up in plate of Atley, Harris or Hibberd in my midfield though, being a rookie he may not get many chances this season. Anyone able to shed some more light on this kid?

Are you sure? The Suns most experienced line is their defence, i thought he'd struggle to fit in there with the likes of Campbell, Bock, Kraks, Harbrow and the rest of the rookie backs in contention not to mention campaigner?

I wasn't confident if he'd have the job security at all because of this.
