Serious question, how do people like Luke Darcy have a job? There are so many terrible 'experts' out there and frankly I would be surprised if guys like Parkin, Shaw, Darcy and a few more even do any research during the week.

Don't tar Parkin with the same brush as Darcy. Don't even tar Shaw with it. Parkin's one of the great minds (and men) of football. Utmost respect for that man.

In hindsight, probably very harsh to have Parkin in the same bracket as Darcy and even worst, Barrett.

Parkin's achievements in the game are fantastic and would be the envy of many and I don't have any issue with him as a man but purely as a commentator, I can't recall him ever saying much positive about us - maybe I'm overly critical but I think his Carlton connections wouldn't make us one of his favourite clubs. Whatever the reason, I don't give his comments and opinions on us much time of day.

Tony Shaw I can't stand. Up there with Brereton in my books for media experts with absolutely NFI.

Remember Parko saying back in 2008 that Richmond's best footy was as good as any side's. It was after that victory against Port at AAMI where Bowden did a Leo Barry (sort of) to save the game. Also notable for the only good quarter of football Oakleigh-Nicholls ever played at AFL level.

David Parkin at least still remembers when Richmond v Carlton was the biggest rivalry in football - even bigger than their's with the Filth. No-one else in the media ever acknowledges that fact, lest they undermine almighty Eddie's revisionist sales pitch hyperbole & earn his wrath.

But Parko was at the coalface of it and still hasn't forgotten.

Massive effort from Dusty. This is just a glimpse of how damaging he's going to be for us this year IMO, and to see how absolutely cooked he was when he came off was just incredible.
