Spot on do the EDFL expect that all of its followers are on Big Footy to alert them of a forfeit. No mention of it anywhere. No doubt the biggest event of the season and once again the EDFL give its clubs and supporters nothing. EDFL your silence is deafening

EDFL are terrible with these situations.

Correct me if I’ve missed it but I’m staggered the EDFL hasn’t addressed the Jacana situations on one of its media platforms.
At a minimum I would have thought they would announce that the senior and reserve games have been cancelled today.

To be fair to them the situation atm is probably still fluid and they are working with the club to find a solution.

The situation maybe "fluid" as you say but the fact they forfeited today and 11 players have been cleared in the last 48 hours should be reported. Surely? Don't treat your constituents like morons.

And had people ringing clubs to "enquire" on his behalf if what I was told today is true.

Hey old friend, trust your doing well. Not sure he needs friends to ring clubs as I’m sure clubs looking for a tall would be contacting him. It’s not Clokes fault he is in this situation. It’s no secret his a “gun for hire” but his getting on a bit and only has a few years left in his body so trying to make some $$. Unfortunately it’s the footy world thesedays. Some clubs will pay his asking price..

Never said it was his fault, the clubs created this current local footy environment not the leagues ... I just get sick of hearing leagues get blamed for topics like this.

Sort of is his fault though isn’t by demonstrating over many years that he only plays for cash? I know many players of equal or greater ability than him who have found clubs that they actually enjoy and whilst still well remunerated have stayed st that club for long periods. Just because someone offers you a bit more doesn’t mean you have to go

Hope Keilor Park hang in, but it’s not good for the division, now with Jacana situation. I imagine the players at KP are doing it tough. If they were to pull up stumps some teams will only play 12 home and away games. And I hear more clubs are coming in at years end, really not sure if EDFL are addressing the issues which are the same as for when they decided to introduce the 3rd div. If you were a competitive team in Div 3 you’d be hoping to move up as soon as you can.

Couldn’t agree more div 3 is a shambles

It’s definitely not the best feeling to watch your players fight their hearts out while both teams fight tooth and nail yesterday while seeing scores in other games that are obviously a cakewalk. Can’t even take the ladder seriously until everyone plays KP and the % is accounted for and as for Jacana?! And it’s not just this division. Look at some of the scores in the other two. The EDFL needs to sort things out sooner than later because who in their right mind would want to play for a club losing by 300 points? How are you meant to attract players, sponsors or even supporters?? What a mess and that goes for a few other teams above as well.

Divisional footy is good for the competitions (both NFNL & EDFL).

Don’t think there’s a lot the comp can do fixture or schedule wise to assist however, helping clubs in trouble understand management and supporting opportunities within communities and schools is certainly something that can be done in conjunction with club administrators - There’s no silver bullet and building brick-by-brick is the only way to be sustainable. Understand the value set and purpose (it may not be finals for 3 years but under 10’s with a 10 year plan to aim having 5 play seniors... Might be to have the BEST Auskick available... Be inclusive to outside entities... Local Football is a different landscape now and being Abers isn’t actually utopia for all geo areas - Although geez it’d be nice...!!! Haha)

Digital and social media is extremely important to get right along with accountability and cash management critical, facts are the skill sets to do these are generally lacking - get those areas functional first and build a happy culture... it’s not easy and a long process from D3

Mate I agree with you, my comment was definitely directed at the league, imo if something isn’t done there will be 6 teams in div 3 where 2 miss out in finals and you play each other 3-4 times. The league needs to help those clubs in the north that due to where they are situated are struggling with numbers because of soccer and other things.
The answer isn’t to keep taking teams 1 hr drive out of the region to top the league up...

I’m not having a dig at SK but let’s help the clubs struggling before more fold

Oh hang on, they’re not premier teams.....

Don’t forget the local councils, especially Moreland who seemed to have forgotten how to help clubs thrive. Footy clubs I’m referring to. I’ve heard stories they’ve been screaming for years in Fawkner, I get ear bashed by the faithful every time I go and watch and the stories make you wonder what clubs need to do, the goal posts keep changing depending on what the local political flavour of the month is.

Moreland are hopeless. Northern saints rooms are the original rooms from the 70’s maybe earlier, their switchboard is a death trap their away rooms smaller than my toilet the lights are the originals with two lamps per tower... that precinct is well overdue for an overhaul but priorities are elsewhere....
that place has serious potential, two ovals, netball courts lawn bowls and tennis.
