tige19, I am sitting on the fence with this one. Agree with Aussie Dude, that Bloomfield has improved, a hellovalot. Lost a lot of weight and looked quite trim at the end of the season. But I also have my doubts if he has the goods to get to VFL. Quite common to have players from local leagues invited to do a pre-season with an AFL/VFL just to see if they can step up.tige19 said:
Also agree with Aussie Dude and his comments on Houachar, lost pace and penetration with his kicking. Gets a lot of the ball, but also turns it over a lot. Led the Keilor stats in ineffective possies in 2005.

If this is true i think the 2006 season has been settled already cause nobody will get near Strathmore. Strathmore have a good defense, ok midfield but struggle to kick goals. Winter is good but he is not a big goal kicker, and McKeon well he was a massive let down. Strathmore had to constantly throw Barnard foward to try and kick a winning score. Tim Harvey will solve alot/all of Strathmores problems IMO.

looks like strathmore won tattslotto these 2 big signings also with a number from western region and who knows where eles anybody would think they had no juniors with the numbers they are recruiting.
They have had some gun kids come up from the juiors but are getting sh t on by the club and not given a chance a couple of them played for the jets in the TAC one left last year to DVFL and enjoyed it so a few of his mates are going to join him.
if they want to be this type of club i would be praying for them that their money never runs out.

my sources are third hand not sure if if they have s*it on exactly but not given a chance,the senior side would be extremely hard to be given a run as they are a top side but like i said they have lost interest at the club, not sure who they are or where there going

Heard from a very realiable source that Turbo has walked away from Oak Park and has signed with Sunbury, can anyone confirm this? the bloke would be a massive loss to Oakies midfield an area where they arent the strongest in either.
With no real signings to speak of as yet the pround Kangas could be looking at a lean year in the EDFL.
Expect Aberfeldie to improve this season with Paul Hudson, former Abers and Coburg gun forward Alan Faraj to sign and also Minton Connell as we all know coaching, along with Simon Cox and a very handy midfield ruck combo the boys from Abers could be a real dark horse. Is there a more potent forward line than that of Faraj,Hudson and Minton Connel in the EDFL???
Would also expect Douttas to be in the top 2 or 3 this season with the signing of Kade Karey and apparantley Brendan Hehir and his partner in crime Mcnamara coupled with the returning Willy boys of Laverde,Ramsay and now Heath Lawry the Stars could be a real contender.
Anyone heard of any signings or potential signings for Keilor and Oak Park?? both clubs could struggle next season with all the improvments other clubs are making.

Haven't heard anything about Strathmore but the rumour has been going around that Oak Park players have not been paid for the last 7 games of the season.Aussie_dude said:

Turbo has left oak Park for sunbury. The peakes boys are as good as gone to IMO. Oak Park have no recuits as yet. Also expect abers foward line to be firing with the signiture of former essendon sup list player Shane Sheppard, currently Oak Park. Oak park are in massive trouble.
Simon Minton Connell has been appointed to coach only, but im sure if they get a sniff of a flag he will pull on the boots for one more season. Abers have also picked up Jason Diratzio (no idea how to spell it) along with faraj. They are much more than a dark horse in my book, they are a massive contender. Have also lost leigh woods and Jason Dennis (knee reco) but gained T. Kemp from moonee valley.
Keilor only announced their coach a few weeks ago, so nothing has been done in the way of player signings. IMO keilor are always going to be up there, just becasue of the sheer size of their club and supporter base.
In relation to Doutta Stars, yes they have picked up but they have also lost Kruiteniuk, Garthercole and Knight. These are three of their best players. Also Johnny Mac is old (34) and had little influence over games a few years ago whilst at Moonee Valley. However last year they lacked height and they and are getting it now with all their new signings.
Aussie_dude, certainly a lot of rumours around Oak Park and non payments. Schimma20, mentioned 7 weeks, that is the same figure that I have been given. Posted some time back that some club officials also gone. Some significant player losses, Turbo, Damien Caulfield (nbr 36), training with Glenroy, his original club, will go back. Pekes, one of them set to go to Craigieburn last I heard, the other not so sure, and a few more in addition to Shep.Aussie_dude said:

Trouble with big payments is, unless they can be sustained, can wreck a club. Avondale Heights only just recovering after their big splurge to win the A Grade flag in late 90's, nearly sent them to oblivion. Greenvale can sustain whilst they retain their 4-5 money men, when they go????
Strathmore, coach kicked a fair amount this year, (25k mentioned frequently)how long will he keep that level of interest?
Oak Park, their high minimum per game to the "non-stars" in 2003/04, the rest on more, looks as if it has drained the piggy bank.

Every time the hyphen (Minton-Connell) moves clubs, the rumours start the Hudson will join him. Why would he? Lives well south of town, coached the Gippsland Power to the flag, have not heard suggestions that he has left that job! The hyphen unlikely to play. Keilor, looking for an injection of players from outside the club. Played final last year with only three "imports", Fraser, Hoaucher and Rossios. Rest all ex Keilor juniors at some point. Have identified 3-5 players that they need, together with Long and Patison coming back after injury. A few of their U18's doing pre-seasons with VFL clubs will also be in contention. A couple of other players, (ex VFL and SANFL), carried restrictive injuries for most of 2005 and could not play at their best, will be back fully fit.

Keilor in trouble if they dont grab a few players, will always play finals but to take the next step need to do a bit of a Greenvale and Strathmoore of such and go outside the realms of Keilor.
Does anyone know if Westy is gonna go around again with Avondale Heights?? gun player that bloke, would fit in real nicely at Abers off the Half back line.
