On the second point quite correct about the district. In fact Justin Maddin is the member for Doutta Galla in the upper house. But the point still remains we do not have a suburb or place called Doutta, Doutta Galla, or Doutta anything. No references in the Melways and does not have a postcode. So if the other poster was correct they should not be allowed to continue under the name of Doutta stars. Wouldn't that be great!!!!

Yeah, you're right and that would be fantastic.

Just a technicallity on your earlier point, I'm pretty sure Doutta's are actually in West Essendon, not North.

Also, in regards to this supposed clean out, I think you are talking poo and no clean out happened at all - it is a true figment of your imagination. The club had won 4 games in 5 years (1999-2003) and then a host of players returned in 2004. This has resulted in the club posting 5 wins in 2004 and 6.5 wins in 2005, marking a large improvement on past efforts.

Exactly, absolute rubbish there has been no clean out at all in the last few years. At the moment we only have three recruits that I can think of, all who have played at the club in the past however I believe we are talking to a few players. The only senior player that appears to have left is Tarz

Abers is West Essendon for sure, Doutta I am not too sure has Buckley St may be the border between West Essendon/North Essendon or even Niddrie

Aberfeldie is infact in Aberfeldie, looking up the 'whereis' website Clifton Park home of Aberfeldie Football Club is listed as Ramsay St, Aberfeldie.

Guys and Ladies, did not mean to derail the thread into the exact location of suburbs. Just trying to illustrate a point about, naming and the EDFL wanting place names. It was not driven by the EDFL, it is more of a case of time and changing demographics, that have driven the changes. If we look at the EDFL as it was in the 60's and 70's, and perhaps earlier, a lot of clubs have died, through merger and/or relocation. For those old enough to remember, two teams shared Marby Park. Riverside Stars and Moonee Imps. Changing population evantually caused both to disappear, and as I understand emerge as Marby Park. In the same area, (close), Ascot Vale went to the wall. Tullamarine, in their golden era of flags, were the product of a Tulla- St Johns Baptist merge. Guys with better memories than I have at the moment, (oldtimers disease), can rattle of rarely heard of clubs that have fallen. Relying totally on memory at the moment, but if there is an interest, can do some research and come up more info.

Is Tate's move to Strathmore 100% or just a rumour like many of the postings in this thread?

I've heard that Josh Stormont is playing at Strathmore next year after walking out of OEGFC following a disappointing year under the previous coach. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Strathmore appear to be getting stronger again for next year. Have picked up some good recruits and have got the kid who won the medal in the 3rds (Cameron Hare) pushing up to senior footy next year, they would have to be the early flag favourites again. Does anyone know how Doutta's are looking for next year? Lock and a couple of others have gone to the Heathcote league next year.

Lock has been appointed coach of Colbinabbin.

Strathmore will have a strong Reserves side then.

Cameron Hare is a better cricketer than footballer.

Who's he play cricket for? Bats or bowls. Must be pretty good at it. he is a very good footballer from what I've seen.

plays for pascoe vale central 1s in the nwca. its a hard wicket comp. he is a top order bat who turns the strike over very well and bowls occasional meds and offies. id think hes a better footballer.

Is it confirmed the McClelland will be going to Riddell?? Is this Matthew??

I played footy with and against Ben Goggins and Rocky Sense, Taz is looking forward to playing with a winning club as his old team only won about 4 games in two years. Also the money his on helps let me tell you.
As for Rocky captain his team to the wooden spoon this year after alot of turmoil at his club Nth S/Shine. With club struggling to pay players and about 8 players leaving including the Asst Coach.
Speaking to Rocky looking forward to having a good year with Airport West before retiring.

Also can anyone remember two players that played at Abers about 2/3 years ago by the names of Shannon Carroll and Peter Manyard not to sure if thier still there were they any good cause both rate themselves very highly.

Thanks
