It's a very early rumor but Marcus Barclay to have coaching role at Sydenham Sharks in 2008. Contracted to APW for 2007 and couldn't get out of it.

Won't be returning to Devils.

Litening will still be at APW

You have to be kidding Barometer, we`re trying to find a coach for 2007 and your bloody talking 2008.
- NO, barclay wont be coaching Hillside Sharks in 2008:thumbsdown:
- NO, he hasnt, or isnt speaking to any one from the club:thumbsdown:
The person/persons we appoint as coach for 2007 will hopefully do a great job and be reappointed in 2008.:D

-Dont know where you got your info from barometer but not even close mate:D

I didn't say he would be coach in 2008, but would have coaching role.

He has definitely spoken to the club, on a couple of occasions as they were keen to get him across for 2007.

As you said the club was looking for a coach next year and he was approached.

But you seem pretty confident that I am not even close. Maybe you should ask the people at the Sharks who know before making bold statements.

Not a bold statement mate as HBK is indeed involved with the club and knows whos been spoken to and who hasn't, and yeah he may of been spoken to but so have other applicants. And as far as him being contracted to APW i don't see why he couldn't get out of it if a coaching role ( particularly senior) came his way or would APW hold him back in doing that i wouldn't think so.

Can you tell me who approached him??????? l am confident that he is not on our agenda and l dont think saying what l did is making a bold statement, its just stating a fact as l DO know who we are speaking to and who we are seeking. If someone did speak to him, it was not someone from our club at the present. But its ok mate, like you said its only a rumor:D :D

Can someone tell me if Jarrod Morrison played in the 2006 premiership for Strathmore??

Many thanks.

No he didn't and wont be at Strathmore next season along with a few other 'strathmore' people who also missed out.

smartest thing EK has ever done resiging him after 12 years away from the club!

Going to attract old players back to the club, re sign all the existing players and attract new players down to the club.

Best thing EK could have done was get rid of Keogh and Phil (the prez) there bond was too strong and phil could not sack Keogh! I and many other players warned Phil that is shane was re appointed in 2006 then there was going to be a mass exit!
Thats the reason Flavel left(won a GF in b grade)
boofa (kicked a goal with 30 seconds left for port colts and got BOG medal in granny),
Whittmar - went to england because he didnt want to play footy after last year

there were also 16 there players who left/retired.

ive already heard steve grey and paul grey are keen to play this year.

all signs point upwards for EK.

so your brother & yourself will be at ek next year?

Great Work Barometer, you are bang on !!!!!

Barclay was approached by the sharks this year, but wants to see his time out at APW, honour the contract.

Has been told there is a place for him in 2008 if he wants it,

Reserves / Senior Assistant looks like the job description.

Also Was heavily chased for the KP under 10's job but turned it down.

the mighty Strathmore are starting to fall apart in the background wont be long now

Hope springs eternal Brickman. I'd be more concerned about the boys from Buckleys and their very un-douttas like performance in the GF. Old boys v.dissapointed with the white flag going up almost pre-game. Perhaps a few of the foreign legion should take a lesson about the history of the great club.

Fortunes of clubs ebb and flow from year to year. At the moment the Mores have had a good couple of years but no doubt that will change at some time in the future. Thats footy. Can't expect to win every year like 06 Brickman.

Hey Jama!
Have you noticed that Moonee Valley Racing Club is behind a huge push to stop Dean Rioli from going to Keilor Park. It clearly begins with the naming of Race 1 tonight and the twenty one dollar entrant horse number nine!:D Oh yes I did also notice horse number 11 in Race 8. Unfortunately a non runner! Good luck in the off season :thumbsu:

I hear ya mate

Is it true about the blokes leaving the club this year?

Would hate to see Moro leave. **** year for him with injuries. Broke his hand v DS first time round and missed 8 then came back and did a quad at the end of the year. Super player and in the Mores best side when fit. As for others leaving - tis the silly season as you well know Brickman
so we'll wait and see.

Spoken to Barclay on numerous occasion's; In fact I have no doubt he will one day coach and be great at it. You don't play over 300 games and not speak to people involved in footy, especially local footy. We all have had informal proposals to play coach or join clubs isn't that what happens in the silly off season? So to make brazen statements that Apw will hold him back or he will join Sydenham in 2008 is just absurd at this point. He is committed to the cause at APW - no one is leaving Apw even Barclay. In Sydenham case, if someone had approach him with an offer good luck to them b/c they are building club and that's what you do. However, in this case I think its just pub talk and no way known as a formal offer to Barclay. So please if you going to make statements makes sure they are right.
Heartbreak kids comments I concur with. However, maybe someone noticed him speaking to scardamaglia when he did the EDFL footy show up there and this was interpreted as a 'OFFER' to join the Sharks! Geez I wonder about some of these posts~~

It would be great to get him up here but l cant see that happening this or next year. It was only a rumor so l think enough said.......:thumbsu:
