Hi folks. I'm back again with my camcorder for another action packed season of suburban footy in Melbourne. I was keen to record Strathmore's premiership flag unfurling so first game of the season for me was last Saturday's game between Strathmore and EDS played at Lebanon Reserve. It was a one-sided but still enjoyable game. Here's my last half game day scenes.
Looking forward to attending many games from the EDFL (go Strathmore), WRFL (go North Sunshine) and NFNL (go Greensborough) competitions along with the odd game from MPNFL (go Mornington), EFNL (go Donvale) and maybe even the RDFNL (go Diggers Rest) and OEFNL (go Gembrook Cockatoo).
It's a pity so many games are played at the same time - Saturday at 2:15pm - so it makes it difficult to see all the games I want. Anyway bring on 2023 and get out there and support your team. Gotta luv suburban footy.

Yes I guess it might be along with some other grounds. Douttas ground not great either. Very wet under foot and sand everywhere.
It’s been an issue for years in this competition unfortunately once you get a bit of rain on grounds.

Well he might be making assumptions based on Keilor thumping Strathmore and Pacco beating Abers. Pacco not yet at full strength either so they do look in reasonable shape.
On another note, I see that Pacco senior coach along with some senior players gave up their time on Sunday to umpire their juniors. Great effort and things like this should be applauded. Setting standards like this just improves the whole club. Hopefully other clubs implement similar things throughout the season as can only be a good thing for junior footy to have knowledgeable people umpiring.
On the other hand players are getting paid well so if they can put their hand up and volunteer kudos to them.
Yeh few grounds similar. Was more making a point maybe don’t take too much out of that game on that surface. Didn’t they do the drainage at Pacco not long ago?

That’s not true. Club umpires can report a player. Even send them off.No umpires means no reports.

I know of at least 3 reports from the weekend.

Just had a look at the teams for the Keilor v Pascoe Vale match and noticed that the young fella from Keilor who looked amazing in the good Friday game still hasn't been selected by the Western Jets ??
There is either an issue with the lad's attitude or the selectors haven't got a clue, from what I've seen it's the latter !
