Re: EDFL "A" Grade - 2011

Big news out of Clifton Park.

H. Skipworth unlikely given his new roles at the Essendon Football Club.
D. Fanning unlikely as he's signed with Marbi.

Age website - photo of J. Shaw, Fatty Vautin and "Pleasure" from Cox Plate day has resulted in all three being sent to "star camp" and work on the whiteness - appears the three have been stuck in the nonlarium!!!

Good pick up for marby. Interesting to see how darcy daniher goes.

is anyone here or is anyone aware of a team that has found the website footyrecruits.com.au helpful in getting new recruits to their club?

anyone here got any good or bad feedback about it?

i've just had a look at it and it seems like a good concept, but i guess nothing is a guarenteed till you see the blok on the track.

alot of "can play anywhere" , "can do it all" eg : "4 x best and fairest in the fairy floss league" etc.....

just want to know if any clubs have found it useful in capturing talent?

Tom Hislop (cut from Richmond) and his brother (ex Tas state league) to play for Abbers in 2012

Jesus good get. Any word on if any edfl side will be have a practice match with any efl sides? Quite enjoyed the marby v balwyn clash back in 2010.

more chance of james hird lining up for abers than danny byrne leaving st bernards
Well done Abers b&f winner Jess Rush. Got under the guard of a few clubs this year. Abers have bought sorry brought another 2 other players from Ruperstwood. Gareth Philips (VFL listed player) and this years b&f player Josh Hine. The way Abers are throwing the cash around who could blame the boys for jumping ship. :p

he did not chase cash as all of you believe playing for less then his albion contract. but according to rumours he didnt get any of anyway hahaha.

Oh well, I guess as long as he's happy good luck to him.

On the other hand we save approx 25 k, the club has approx 5 k a week spare to spend on players even after all the existing players have been looked after, thats 100k spare, keen to get some key position players on board. If you can play, get in touch with Mr Kanga at Hogans Rd. If you try hard enough you can get his details from the wrfl web site.

Rumours out of Keilor are that Pask, Young, Pearce, Prowse,King, Moloney and Bramely have all either retired or gone to other clubs. If this is the case it will be interesting to see if they fall even further from grace!

Incorrect. Pask going means the rest will stay.

Pask, Prowse, Moloney, Zahra retired. Nicholson overseas. Young to Avondale $$$!! Papalia & Cooper return. Normal turnover for Keilor FC. Will miss Prowse.

Will certainly also miss Zahra. He has been a truly great player for the Keilor Football Club over the past decade. Has had a wretched run with injuries in recent seasons.

Damien Zahra (300+ games & a Life Member) one of the best defenders in the last decade will be a huge loss, 2011 was always going to be his last but doing his knee early rd2 was a major disappointment for all concerned.

Well done Zars on a super career and agree he has been one of the top 3 defenders in A Grade from the past decade!

He will be missed as will Prowsey!

Please disregard this "gibberish" post regarding outgoings from the Abers list however the "star camp" quote remains unfortunately!

Haha, tell ya what Puff it sent shock waves through Moonee Ponds!

I did hear Marby have signed Jake Desousa and Longo from Taylors.

Always good to stir the pot mate.

Some handy former Oak Park boys (past and present) look headed for Tullamarine and you would hope the reports aren't true about their captain heading to the EFL as he's a super player and will be missed.

In other news - former Greenvale and Strathmore star headed to Tullamarine with them. He looks like a former "street fighter" - image attached.
