Hey Star, Strathmore will go through the process but will already have someone in mind surely. They will spare no expense in getting a high profile coach..

Not at all. The process will run its course. It is club policy to advertise every coaching job of all 20+ teams and exec positions.

SFC will strive for the best fit, 'profile' is not a factor and never has been down there.

How many weeks did the Keilor player receive for this cowards act?

A friend just came from the hearing and called me disgusted. Apparently found guilty of the exact same grading and reduced to 9 weeks which lets him play on 15 total. More inconsistency. Our boys at HFC got dereg'd for less. Not saying that was a bad decision but this from all accounts far worse damage and far less weeks. Kfc the protected species it seems.

Some cynics might claim this was a blatant manipulation of the process to achieve a predetermined outcome. They might also yearn for some higher body, without a vested interest, ( such as WADA did in the Essendon saga) to come in over the top and review the whole matter without fear or favour.
Maybe ICAC would be the appropriate organisation, but that aint going to happen though unfortunately.

Turbo, your thoughts please. Please be tactful though ( as you always are).

double whammy for turbo this week now. How did this appeal happen. did a higher body at the edfl hear it or outside the edfl. Was it just the severity of the sentence or new evidence. How can there be so massive a difference in the penalty

An independent tribunal heard it is what i got told. They have clearly deliberately made it so he could play with no more chances. Found guilty of the same rating of the strike and reduced by 27 weeks sounds ridiculous to me. Every club will appeal now and get a soft appeal tribunal and get the sentence severely reduced. Can't help but think if it was a lesser club and player this wouldn't have happened. Clearly sets a bad precedent. King hit a bloke at the other end from the ball and get 9 weeks. Got told Clarke will never play again.

You can't be serious? If true beyond a joke. Wouldn't happen in the Ammos. The player wouldn't play again. This can only be a terrible joke, surely...

100% correct. Basically they accepted the same thing the first tribunal did then allowed him to play again. Apparently there was an incident in the country (not for South Bendigo) where the player was involved in ending another career with a behind the play strike which is on his record. If all is true im disgusted

I agree to have good competetive reserves and especially 18s is the key. However to add to your point, the 3 remaining clubs have probably the most qualified coaches and spending the most on coaching staff. GV have an ex AFL player and former premier coach, coaching there reserves. Which other sides have that in there budget? This is a big factor surely especially come finals time and managing players..

It's hard to gauge Paccos season compared to last year but to be a top 4 side in premier league 2 years running is still a good effort for where they have come from. They will always be the underdogs compared to the big 4 clubs, but they are on the rise..I'm sure the brains trust out there will be working hard on improving again in 2017 which is there 100 year anniversary.

Btw- Gee the chicken breast roll from the food van ($7:50) was a let down compared to going to a home & away game, and the coffee I had well, it had a small hair on the lid (most likely a ????)which nearly made me sick. Maybe best eat before you get there or take your own. Donuts were OK..

Turbo - I reckon Morrell & Wallis are more qualified and a rung above Potter... think you're giving to much credit to the coaches here(everyone you talk to at GVale say that Grant is No Good), fact is those 3 teams have the best lists($$$), that's why they are the last 3 standing.

This is as bad as the headbutt in the Geelong league resulting in a fractured nose and or cheekbone. The said player from Geelong West already had 14 weeks suspension against his name and was given an 8 game penalty. 1 game plus 7 suspended.

Both are an absolute joke.

If Keilor allow him to ever play again they should be embarrassed.

Case closed , move on fella's

If it had of been a Keilor player, eg Brown on the receiving end, I'm sure your club would be up in arms and appealing for maximum sanctions.

Your opinion on the situation would be completely different.
Regardless, it's been discussed to death - what else can be said?
Moving on and focusing on the footy still to be played is probably the best.
