At full strength this side in different ways is almost as good. But we won't ever get to witness it.

Inspired me to watch the 2013 GF again. So many good players on both sides who've gone on to greater things. Hopefully a lot of the kids being talked about in this thread do the same.

Managed to stop by EDS after work to watch them train, have a listen to this ex hillside coach john rayner had them working beautifully they looked awesome and thinking about it Maddern and Rayner maybe the new coaching duo to get this douttas team where it has to be

EDS success this year really is simple, ensure Cam and Ben star, if they don't, it won't matter how many coaches they have. They cannot win the flag unless those two boys play and play extremely well. They have not really showed anything this year to suggest their depth outside those two boys is good enough to win the flag if those two terrific players don't dominate from what I have seen

Although I don't totally disagree with your comment Abalancedview I must say if any side loses their best 2 they also will struggle. Cam and Ben are absolutely in the top 5 best players in edfl but balta is also a great talent and eds have quite a few other very good players.

BigfootyEDFL I would suggest cam Rayner is the football talent in the family. J.rayner should remain as a dad and hillside/eds/..... supporter. Certainly not a coach.

Interesting comment, personally I reckon they have what it takes to win the flag without those two, have to look outside the box in terms of talent. Abers have proved year by year that they don't need big guns to win premierships.

Sherrin4lyf I totally agree. Of course they can win it without cam and Ben but unfortunately we have certain people on this thread who only want to pump up certain individuals tyres. Eds very good side whichever way you look at it

He stood out for me. Looks a quality player. Craigieburn just not allowed to play the free flowing game of last week.

Enjoyed the game down at Nipper Jordan, thought the intensity from both sides was top notch. I think today we saw even contributors from douttas and little was left to do for the vic duo. James Martyn played very well, as did Klaromenos, Brookes, Connor, Kochary and Willach.
Bigfooty yes he has proved me wrong, the kid is a gun at all ends of the field. Other results?

watched the eds v craigeburn game today and eds definitely not a two man team although craigeburn looked a bit like a one man team. Vendramini.Busted his guts.
Although Cam kicked seven and was fantastic I thought James Scully just about best. Liam McBean, Chad Sir, Patty Brookes and Noah Balta, James Martyn all had great games amongst others in a very good team effort in first game without Captain Caluzzi.

Div 2 Round 9 Top of the Table clash coming up Glenroy v Moonee Valley.....for top spot and outright favouritism for Div 2. Interestingly Glenroy have been smashing sides that Moonee Valley have only just been beating but MV beat Glenroy by 8 goals in Round 2.
What's the inside word? Glenroy have two U16 sides while MV only the one, is this depth telling as Winter unfolds?

Given the talent of both those sides which of the teams have had the more stars develop through TAC?

Keilor would have O'Kearney Douttas Laguda but which others have kicked on that are top age? Campisi and Toa playing bottom aged jets not sure who else of those teams at cannons?

Greenvale. Not a lot of stars, but a very good team.

Laguda, Romios, Wallis, Meyers, Stewart, Hobbs, Bond, and Brown all for Douttas at Cannons now or Jets. Caluzzi played in the side too. Matty Stillman and Formosa for Greenvale at Cannons.
