Our policy does not allow for blood or hair tests, they would need to change the policy first and players would have significant notice. Even then, for something like hormone treatment, you have to take blood test within a small window, talking hours here, not days/weeks/months.

It is not like steroids which hang around in your system for ages.

Hours? More like 15 minutes and you are IN THE CLEAR

That article is too damn funny, especially the video through a chain link fence of a few players walking to training. What do they think they're gonna do? Start shooting up on the ground or tell the press that they're all on roids? Then the article explaining what peptides and HGH are along with a bunch of rubbish, I'm pretty sure they haven't said what substance was involved...

also Warren Tredrea was also given suppliments but he took them to be tested & supposedly didn't take them. You can guarantee he wasn't the only Port player who were offered them.

Honestly, you can't tell me only Tredders was offered the drug. If/when the AFL/ASADA dig deeper into this, there might be more into it, might not be either. But it's worth getting it out there, it's a very hot topic these days.

From what I hear its more to do with our rehab players & injections they were receiving, which after the year we had could include anyone.. But up to 10 players is the number being thrown around.

With these types of injections are they used for specific injuries? Eg. does it only work for hamstrings, is it a more general soft tissue type treatment?

The question is why didn't any Essendon players seek independent testing?

It's a point against systematic use, surely if 80% of the club was involved then at least one individual would have sought outside advice or even just used google.

Firstly I'll declare my allegiance...my year is made if we only win two games and they're both against Essendon...that being said ....if you get someone to sign a waiver you are scared that your advice is going to back fire on you..if you are the worlds best sports science guru you should know that this is within the rules, on the edge or illegal....a waiver generally absolves you of any repercussion and shifts the responsibilty..I find it absurd to believe that the Essendon Football Dept would have been happy for the players to sign a waiver...they have a duty of care....if they did know they deserve to be punished just for that.....if they knew they were on the edge then yes more punishment...if they were illegal well it's the book I'm afraid.....

Waiver or not, all players have a duty of care to know what they are putting into their own body. Hell, all people should know what they are putting into their own body. ASADA will not use ignorance as an excuse, waiver or not.

I'm no lawyer, but AFAIK waiver is no protection from legal action if it's related to illegal activity. i.e. it makes no sense for EFC to have players sign a waiver in order to give them illegal substances - EFC would still be liable to prosecution/penalties. Therefore, it makes you think that the waiver (or whatever the document is) is not damning at all.

The same thing was used between Manly & Essendon so how can it be legal for Manly and not for Essendon? the same sports scientist was at both clubs. What you said makes zero sense
