Premiers....

George Goninon's last game?...

Best player....R.S Reynolds

Good choice of Bomber flag wins Mercs:thumbsu:

One of the best EFC seasons in our long history. They kicked over 20 goals in a match 6 times during the year including an 86 point win over Hawthorn in rd 9:thumbsu:

Coleman kicked a lazy 120 for the year 1950,including bags of 11,8,8,10,8,7,10 and 4 in the Grand Final:)

Hutchison kicked 38 and King Richard bagging 26 for the year.

One of the great EFC Premiership sides and one our best seasons as a club.

******** Reynolds played in the 1951 Grand Final.
Yes, he retired at the end of 1950, but he came out of retirement for the 1951 GF because Coleman was suspended.

Which Champion EFC Player Am I?

I am discribed as tall and magnificently built..

I could play in any position on the ground and was extraordinarily fast..

My high marking was supurb, ground work robust and I was as nimble and agile as a hare..

I rarely had an off day and I could kick brilliantly with every type of kick imaginable..

Nope,not Bolton (lol) or Vanders....

He is a very highly respected Don......from our past.

If I gave more info it would be to easy to guess.

Albert Thurgood....

Correct mate:thumbsu:

Albert Thurgood- 46 VFL games-89 goals. 1892 to 1894...1899 to 1902 and also played in 1906

Extract from the book "Champions of Essendon" which Thurgood came in at No 9 of the 60 best champions of the EFC...

In the 1930's,the Sporting Globe wrote....

"Thurgood was the most spectacular player of his time, and had the fasination of the public thats belongs to a champion. He was of gigantic proportions (183cm,which was big in those days),with great height, bulk and strength and was as nimble as a hare. Naturally he was a special mark for the half backs, but he handled them as if they were babies. He was one of the fleetest of foot in his day and frequently played on the centre wing. A lovely high mark,he leapt like a kangaroo. He was constucted for pre-eminence in football."

The famous football writer C.C Mullen saw many of the greats over 70 years but in the 1950's he rated Thurgood as the greatest footballer of all time over the likes of Reynolds,Whitten,Nash,Coleman and Pratt

Not a bad footballer hey!...and he played for us:D :thumbsu:

243+88= 331
+148= 479
-100= 379
-46 = 333
-14-11 = 308
-51 = 257
-335 = -78
-58 = -136

I have no idea who -136 represents. Bolton?

Ahhhhhhhh...forget that one:)

Already I can see some stats are slightly different...2 goals here 1 game there.

It amazes me how different books and stat lists are never all quite the same.

It will never work cause not everyone has exactly the same info as others.

Sorry bout that folks.......have to make up some more questions that can be checked by all and be exactly the same:thumbsu:

Oh yer.....I fuched up with the one on Roger...should have said total career games including Brisbane Lions/Bears...which I have at 287

I also got (according to my records) Tim Watson on 334 career goals..

and Ken Fletcher playing 59 games as captain!

Going by those figures..try that:D

It won't be a minus number now:o

I think Mero is the best bet for this one, I dont have enough stats

Well, it's more about maths than stats at this stage.
And I came up with 3.

Just for the teachers out there, here are my workings out:
243+88= 331
+287= 618
-100= 518
-46 = 472
-14-11 = 447
-51 = 396
-334 = -62
-59 = 3

Is that what you were looking for?

So you're either looking at:
Number 3, Aaron Henneman
Matthew Lloyd or Tristan Cartledge who both played 3 games.
Jason Winderlich, Dean Rioli or Scott Camporeale who all kicked 3 goals each.

I'll go with "I can't believe he was delisted" Henneman.
