You dont understand the new rules.

He doesnt have to enter the ND - Another club can trade him away from Essendon.

Yaco

Silverlock can stay at the club and agree to a second year on the list (optional second year for interstate rookies), whilst if he were to decline he would then have to nominate for the draft should Essendon not find a suitable trade for him (if that was the path he wanted to go down)..

He is staying though, could not imagine him going, doesnt seem like that at all from the couple of times I have spoken to him. Good kid too :thumbsu:

Yes, that's great and all, but to my actual point, I don't see where the great demand for Silverlock's services is coming from. The way you're speaking, its as though he streaked the field in the JJ Liston or something.

Silverlock improved enourmously during the season, and ended up playing some very good games. He is quick, hard at it, gets the thing, disposes of it well and kicked a few goals too. There are not that many players who have all those qualities, I think the demand for him would be quite high now. We should put him straight on the senior list.

What i am saying is that another club may make him an offer to good to refuse - because rookies can be traded.

I think if the club thinks he can play senior football in 2011 - put him on the primary list.

Dont forget that we wont have a nominated rookie next year, so we must wait for a LTI or after Round 11.

I think we have got some very good inside midfielders too Yaco.

When we beat St.Kilda, we had Jobe Watson, Ben Howlett and Sam Lonergan as our starting 3 mids, last week was the same except we had Winderlich in there instead of Lonergan..

Are we sure it is not the cream that is letting us down and not the cake?

I would think that Watson, Lonergan, Howlett, Melksham (when he has played on ball) have all won a fair bit of the ball from the clearances..

Just need to kicking skills to kick the ball inside 50 to our leading forwards.

Are you suggesting that the outside midfielders/link players need to work on some attributes of their game.

I agree Yaco, he is going to be a player..

Ultimately, we still have the final say.. He is listed to Essendon.

What I am trying to articulate is - Another club says to Silverlock ' we will put on the primary list"

What does Silverlock do ?

uh.. ok, now I got ya.

Good question though..

If we trade him, he goes straight onto the primary list any ways.

He would stay on I wreckon, doesn't seem like the kind of guy to just walk away for himself.

We gave him a chance in the AFL, played him and played him, had he not injured himself, he may have very well earnt himself a senior game.

Ben Howlett says hi :D

Sam Mitchell says hi :D

Harry Taylor also pops his head in and says hi :D

If they are good enough they will get a chance..

As for Michael Rix, he (along with Northern Bullant Orren Stephenson) are the two most dominant big men in the state competitions.

Some clubs are crying out for a bck up ruckmen, maybe for depth, but they would love one of them..

None of those guys are 30 years old. :D:D:D:D
