Fremantle aren't as bad as the last two weeks suggest. Take a look at their performances at the start of the season. I'd suggest their true form lies somewhere between their current output and early season output. We are clearly a better team, but this is the most criticized they've been all year and they'll have a host of players playing for a new contract. Expect them to come out with fire.

Their pressure was also absolutely incredible in the first quarter against Tigers.

Now they obviously couldn't sustain it, but Tigers are great at weathering a storm and stopping the team scoring. We haven't been too great at that, especially over the last month or two.

The good thing is we start strong normally and similar to the Gold Coast we should be able to run over the top of them.

Freo probably wont be as poor as they were against Richmond or Swans though so we have to be on the ball.

Anyone know if the Mayweather McGregor fight will be shown at a bar or something at Etihad? Trying really hard to figure out how to do both on Sunday?

From what I can tell Crown has it on all screens in all their pubs. Still can't find definitive info if you need to pay an entrance fee. Sports bar through the casino looks the best option with screens all around.
Fight scheduled for 11am AEST and should be over in 2 rounds like Connor predicts. Plenty of time to walk back to Etihad

The card starts at 11am, I don't think Floyd or Conor are out until after 1pm.

Word is the AFL have instructed Etihad not to show it, which is strange considering they showed the Mayweather Pacquiao fight during an Essendon game a few years back. The Woolshed or The Nixon near the ground will be your best bet.

Jobe has too come in.

We can't go into a final with him not playing for a month. And we can't go into a final without him. Finals are about winning the contested footy. And like it or not Jobe is in our best few players that can do that.

He plays this week and he plays finals.

We all love Jobe, but he is miles off the pace. His kicking is a liability eg shots at goal, turning it over at half back.

We will win and win well this week.

We have lost one game we were truly SUPPOSED to win: Brisbane. Many will say Carlton Rd3, but when the conditions are that bad (and in fact tilted more to your opposition), it becomes a 60-40 at absolute best.

We've dealt with teams below us all year: Collingwood twice, Carlton, Gold Coast, North, and St Kilda. We've lost to the reigning Premiers and Melb who are on equal points as us. We have most certainly not lost a bunch of games to teams we really should have beaten.

The constant self-deprecating on here is bloody tiring.

EDIT: Yes, first post, long time reader.

Good first post.

Your positivity is welcome.

Agree.

Bird was ok first up & actually tackles. Does everything Jobe's done recently but better & deserves to be selected ahead of him this week.

If he nails it Sunday, he gets the nod in the final for mine

He needs a chance to prove himself and his agility and pace would be perfect to fill Greens role. Playing on a wing in the VFL will also help him to operate up and down the ground like we like to do in the seniors.

We can upgrade a rookie also so I would like to see him get a chance.

They got thumped by Lions by 10 goals and then played Geelong in their next game and were unlucky to lose by 2 points at Geelong. Expect them to play at a similar level against us.

Also keep in mind that despite West Coast and Fremantle being fierce rivals, they have the mind set of WA versus the East. Would not surprise me at all if a big $ man in WA supports them to get the job done.
