Ok I just watched the AFL one, that was a brilliant little production piece.
The people at Fox should watch that and start looking for a new job as of the end of this sentence.

Something that went for a fraction of the time yet fu**loads more powerful

The little story of Vanders, May and Viney abusing Trac. Goody looking more emotional than the players
fu** you fox footy
100% - everybody knows that we were ****ing shit in the antecedent 50 or so years before 2021. Tell me more of what changed to make us successful rather than the same old how shit were we, the poor fans etc stuff.

The 15 minutes on the AFL site does that way better than Iron Mike’s attempted opus.

Good documentary. At the beginning I was a little worried it was just going to be 'Old man yells at cloud, featuring Mike Sheahan', but it helped set the table well of what had gone before, and Mike being a Melbourne man really helped. Loved Garry's reaction also to being reminded of the 2018 prelim, where it looked like it had been wiped from his memory as some sort of defense mechanism .

Obviously the best stuff was all surrounding the 2021 season including the main event. Was great having both Vineys sitting next to each other reflecting. My main take away though was Max Gawn. His legend will only grow from here, and when they touched on Norm Smith, Barass, Stynes and Daniher, i couldnt help but think this is how Gawny will be spoken about in future years.

Heartening also to see how hungry everyone is for another flag. This premiership to me was so perfect though and ill hold onto it forever no matter what lies ahead. I also personally didnt give a damn that it was in Perth, most of the enjoyment i get is from rewatching the game endlessly and from media content such as this doco.
I still remember Garry on the couch during the 2019 season talking about 2018 is the anomaly and 2019 is the true reflection of the club's culture. Maybe that was also a defence mechanism, expect disappointment, won't get disappointment.

Anyone else find it weird with Ben Brown interviews. Doesn't feel like he's a Demon, just a player which North lent us. Of course I'm sure he and the players feel differently. I guess the way he played his role for the team particularly in the later part of the season just kind of feels surreal. Did North really trade this guy for a packet of chips.

what does this even mean?

Yep, I'm sure he has a greater affinity to the club that pushed him out the door because they wanted to blood their youth and told him to deal with it over the stillborn death of one of his twins. I'm sure he can't wait to go back there and won't rock up to any Dees premiership reunions :tearsofjoy: :$

I get what he's saying - Brown was such a North name for so long and we picked him up at such a discount rate it was kind of surreal. Then add in that he's played most of his footy for us during a pandemic and not at the MCG I kinda forget that he plays for us sometimes too. I think I need to see his 80m run up live at the G to fully grasp he's a MFC man now. Throw in winning a flag in his first season and it's weird.

I always thought that in general play and hard to put a number on it but it went the required 15m, Bowey was about a metre out from the 50 and seems Caleb Daniel is on the mark around 30-35m out.

I think it went somewhere between 15m and 20m
The angle of the camera makes it look short. That’s my guess anyway. I think it looked different side on.

I have no evidence other than having lurked the WB GF thread and didn’t see any howling.

That's because before those knuckle draggers had a chance to slap together some words we'd snagged about 52 goals

I guess we are just going to have to go back to back so we get the behind the scenes stuff strictly about the grand final that we are all looking for, fine, you brought this upon yourselves other afl clubs.

With the videos they have been releasing wouldn't be surprised if it was called 'our premiership' an featured Gawn with a go pro strapped to his forehead

During the match? That would be amazing. You’re a genius

Careful, before long someone at the AFL will have the idea to mic up the players in the GF for Big-Bash style faffery in between kicks

According to the podcast another doco coming out tomorrow called 'sound the alarm' which is 36 minutes with a lot of goody on mic.

Also max liked the AFL one over the fox footy one so god has spoken

AFL one was better, but I don't get the negativity here around the fox footy one. Thought it was good
It was fine, it was just superficial and never really going to sate the nuffies (like me). I wasn’t expecting Sunderland Til I Die or The Last Dance but it really glossed over the 2021 season. Also if you were going to bother covering shit like the sacking of Norm Smith maybe read Ben Collins’ excellent book and explain some of the intrigue around the subject rather than just musing with empty rhetoric.

I want a Get Back style doco, eight hours of fly on the wall footage of the players iso at Joondalup.

TBH I'd take an SBS 'slow TV' cut of Goody walking 1000 laps of the resort carpark every day.
