Multiplat Fallout 3

I've had a love affair with the combat shotgun lately, it's all I need :)

It's my baby as well :) I can often go into VATS and kill a super-mutant with one or two headshots; and I've got the bloody mess perk, so they basically explode :)

I have the radio cranking non-stop.

Got a question for anyone whos finished or almost finished the game

Currently doing the garden of eden mission and have been wandering round in some random underground place for ages, im up to the part where i cant go further because theres radiation in the halls. Anyone know if im going in the right direction because vault 87 seems ages away on the world map.

What I did was
I got into Vault 87 through Little Lamplight, the kids let me in once i had saved the others from the slavers in Paradise Falls. From there u head out the back of the town (they open the way), you go through a cave full of super mutants to vault 87.

I can't help but wipe out every town I travel through....I have good intentions when I arrive but can never control my urges to kill everyone.

Had a rather fun time murdering and pillaging Ghoul Town last night.

Ha, i'm the same, although i try to save, have my fun then reload and try and fight the urge to murder innocent people haha.

I don't save....raiding all the stores after you've killed everyone can be quite advantageous. Needless to say my karma is shit.

What do you do in areas like rivet city mate? Do you kill everyone there? And if so, how do you go about getting missions?

I imagine there's some way where you still can. I ask because i really just want to be a total arse hole on the next playthrough and just kill everyone and steal their shit.

But i still want to do missions.

Also...Spoilers

I take it you blew megaton then? There's merc there that will follow you if you're evil enough apparently. But i'd say he's dust for you now.

It does remove the ability to undertake some lesser missions, but there seems to be a glitch in some cities where important people that give you missions don't become part of the pandemoneum when slaughtering a city. For instance, in Ghoul Town Reilly stood in silence in the medical room while I blasted everyones heads off, she didn't run away and the mission was still active. Ghoul Town was a real treasure chest; 15 Stimpaks, 2000 caps, mountains of ammo and chems.

It pays to be an evil bastard.

I've killed a few in Rivet City, but the plethora of people in the market make it a tough task.

Yeah I've gone the goody two-shoes route this time... if I end up doing another playthrough.. and there's every chance I will (could just about be the first time ever in a game for me).. then I will be the Wastelands tough guy. Act like a prick, kill.. pillage that type of thing.. it will be interesting to see what happens...

I always end up playing these type of games as the charasmatic good guy(girl). :/
Most games are just so much easier when they are played like that ... NWN games are the classic example.

For all intents and purposes...in my next playthrough i am basically going to be a raider.

Everyone dies for my betterment:D

Not really with this game, or many others.

In fallout if you're good there's bonuses, if you're neutral there's bonuses, if you're an evil mo-fo there's bonuses. Its something that's really great about the game.

Being evil in fallout opens up new missions...new followers...new ways to score caps/ammo that you just can't achieve as a do gooder.

Mass effect was the same. Being evil and ruthless was no harder or less rewarding than being good. I did the same in mass effect as i'll do with fallout, play as super nice guy, then the total arseh*le to get the full experience.

Its more fun that way. After being so restrained and good for the first go, there's something liberating about being a prick the second time.:D

You usually get similar results in the end. Except as a good guy you get them by being charming and liked, as a baddy you just intimidate everyone.

Yeah, I realise that for this game especially they've actually put some time and effort in to the evil side of the story. I've just subconciously trained myself to always go the high charisma route after smashing my head against the wall in some other games trying to be evil and then having not one of the millions of NPC's ever give me the time of day.

The one thing I have noticed in this game is that I haven't had the chance to get a many followers like in Fallout 2. Except for Jericho in Megaton the two clowns from Big Town and a bloke with a sniper rifle I accidently killed just outside of Megatonthere has no been much chance of it.

Has anyone else noticed this or am I just missing something.

I ended up with 3, although one of them left after a mission.

They were
1. a temporary one in the national archives to get the declaration of independence
2. A female knight from the Brotherhood in the Pentagon
3. and the best of all, a friendly super mutant whose name i have forgotten but was awesome

Finished the game last night and today has been somewhat empy ....lol
I ended up with no followers as I was an evil arseh*le.
Highlight >>
And I got the bad bad ending as I was evil for the game (blowing up megaton) and forcing the girl knight to go into the reacter.
Anyways if your going to play this, game play the side quests because you can finish the campaign in roughly 10-12 hours if you just shoot through.

Levelled up to 15 last night exploring, Vault 112 is on the cards tonight.

I've had an escalation of encounters with bounty hunters due to my bad karma, but they rarely put up much of a challenge.

Yep...i've done every side quest i can so far, done a fair bit of exploring, barely done a scrap of the story, and i've played for 36 hours:D

Nowhere near finished...

I just found the bounty hunter hideout and took them all out. haven't been bothered by them since :p

I think one of the achievements is for finding 100 locations. I've 50 odd so far. May have to continue exploring. I'm level 19 as is.

I let the Ghouls into Tenpenny Tower; they killed everyone, and I looted their corpses and shops. Basically set me up cash/equipment wise for the rest of the game.

Finished it. Start off good, midway through I was evil as possible, by the end I was supergood again. Will play through again at a later date and just slaughter everybody I can.

An odd question, but, any reason why you can't kill the kids? :o
Legal? Classification reasons?

Goddamn it, the future of Megaton must perish as well!

I can't think of any game where kids aren't immortal. I doubt the classification boards would look upon it kindly.

In WoW I once tried to kill the 'king' of stormwind with a low level horde character, only to be severely dissapointed :(

True, you never actually saw the kids dying.

Has anyone taken on Brotherhood of Steel soldiers?

I'm tempted to give it a go, but know I'll be smashed unless I have somewhere decent to cover myself.

I did exactly this last night.

Honestly i was trying to play as a good guy. Initially i thought the people in tenpenny were snooty pricks and siding with the ghouls was going to be the "Good karma" option.

This was until i heard Roys plan. I helped him go through with it just to see what happens...was pretty funny seeing everyone shitting themselves while they were hunted down by ferals.

But given i'm trying to be the good guy, i'll probably go back to a save just before i accepted Roys mission and side with the Tenpenny pricks for the good karma.

I sorta like roy...but alas he has to die. Think i'll stick a bottlecap mine next to him while he's sleeping, back off and "wake him up".
