The worst is trying to build a ******* room in your house, hence using a doorway.

Problem is, because it is part of the floor, the symmetry of the whole floor ****s up, because the floor of the doorway has one extra line, compared to the floor around it.

This then makes it difficult to attach perfectly aligning walls.

Its killing me.

I have foreseen your death. You will be okay.

Tonight I planned to pick up piper and go meet Preston at the castle but I kept discovering new places and people to kill and of course had to gather loot... Made it at 2am but too late to do the mission lol

It's a good mission too!

Fallout is like that though... I snuck in a few hours before bed last night and ended up doing one mission, which was just finishing off one I didn't complete the day before, there is so much to do in this game.

So there is more building after the initial kind of showing you what to do but not really showing you what to do ones?

Some missions require you to build stuff to advance on the mission, so for someone like me who doesn't pick up all the junk I then have to go find the crap required so I can move forward on a mission.

The only building I've had to do to complete anything so far is build radio towers. Is there more that you have to do later?

So after not warming to the game as quickly as the others......I am officially hooked.

Last night went againsts the grain (of my normal Fallout style), after a few botched attempts at the Forge I went the Power Armour - Tactical Mini Gun - Missle Launcher route over the normal Sniper & Shot Gun style. I must say watching a VATS play through of a missle direct hit to a Raiders head is quite enjoyable.

I have limited interest in building stuff so don't like the fact it's forced onto me in missions.
Main story or side quest?

If sidequest, there's like 18 bazillion of them, so maybe just do a different one. Perhaps tag the resources you need and pick them up while doing other quests rather than go looking for them specifically

Have been running without a companion, just dogmeat.

Only around lvl 17 atm but dogmeat seems brutish. Has been dispatching mutants by himself and saw him tear the head off a mutant hound last night!

Copper and ceramics are the biggest pain for me

Spend half my inventory picking up ashtrays

For the castle you will need to

produce 10 power for the radio beacon at the end. Then you'll get the ability to build artillery and you will have to plonk one of them too.

Ceramic was my bane for a while since I never thought to pick up the junk it comes from. Now I load up on coffee cups :D copper not so bad since I'm always picking up light bulbs and seem to nearly always get it from scrapping weapons with scrapper perk.

Both I'd say. It's a minor annoyance.

Excellent. I will be doing the Castle after work today. I've arrived and am ready...

That mission lead me to pump my Charisma so I could get the Local Leader Perk.

That way I could easily put artillery in multiple locations and enjoy the fireworks.

I've built five of them (artillery) and the women is still telling me to build one, am I missing something?

Have you assigned someone to man it?

Nope, I'm not sure how to do that, I've spoken to other NPCs but no option comes up.

building mode, highlight them, command them, go and click on the artillery.

Also check in other settlements if you have food etc done but still in the red on the happiness meter or whatever it is, as you may need to assign people to that as well. If you can get a few people at each settlement, you can actually have them do some really helpful things.
