Did it scare the shit out of anyone else aswell

Im the kinda person who finds scary movies predictable, ohh no random couple, dont split up in the misty jungle! Oh woww, as usual the guy gets mauled, then she runs around falls over and gets mauled

When I got FEAR 2, I thought it would just be another shoot em up monster alien crap.

I never played FEAR 1, so i had no experience in the franchise.

10:30 at night, when i finally started playing it, my bedroom light turned off, my TV up loud.

SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME

I got to one part, where i had to open a door to get to the next room, and I jsut couldnt open it, I had to turn my xbox off, I had to wait till the daylight to advance through the game hahaha

Anyone else find this game even slightly scary, cause this is the only thing what scared the crap out of me when it came to movies or games.

Yeah the game was pretty scary seeing as it focused more around ALMA than the first game did.

I was shaking while playing it.

First one scared the shit out of me and judging by what you guys are saying FEAR 2 sounds like a scarier game not to sure im game to try it
I might have to pick it up as much as i dont like playing games that have things just jumping out of nowhere and that creepy feel to it and when you get the clammy palms on top of the shaking hands i still find myself having to play them cause i love it at the same time.

Yeah I definetly prefered the first.

The AI in the first game was amazing, that also added to the scare-factor.

Looks like Paxton Fettel is back in F.3.A.R.

I bought it a few months back and promptly played through it. Certainly wasn't as scary as what I'd played in FEAR 1. Also the AI definitely seemed off, FEAR's AI is still up there as some of the best I've ever seen, probably only just beaten by Killzone 2's. But the AI just seemed dumber in 2 and didn't play anywhere near as well as they did in FEAR 1.

Also, I felt there was WAY too much action in FEAR 2 over the first. The game needs to really go for a more full on horror, shit your pants every second type of attitude. I knew that if I was in a firefight, generally nothing would be there to scare me. That being said, there were a few great scares, but nothing on the scale of what I played in FEAR 1.

One thing I'd like is for Monolith to use a different engine as well. For one, the engine's been through quite a number of games now and was the same as that used in FEAR 1, so it's getting on. Something fresh would be nice, and something that complimented the FPS a bit more would be handy as the FPS gunplay wasn't really all that smooth compared to other games (could just be that shooting with L2 to aim and R2 to shoot is the worst way to do it on the PS3 as well, but I didn't feel as good as it does in others).

IMO Condemned 2 is almost exact to what FEAR 3 should try to emulate. I picked up Condemned 2 a little bit after FEAR 2 and I was VERY impressed by it. It managed to combine FP action with very little gunplay and a shitload of scares really, really well. And Condemned 2 is a Monolith game as well, so they know what to do. FEAR 3 could go a little stronger on the gunplay as it is still a Horror-FPS, but if it brought as many scares as Condemned 2 did, then I'll be happy.

well guys, I have just bought it only after reading http://www.nowgamer.com/ review(by the way..awesome site, check it out!) and they gave it a 9.1. Loved the first one and am looking forward to the hangover slowing down so i can play it..

having spent some time with it now I must say I am enjoying it. It has had some scary bits, but I guess the surprise factor isn't there this time coz i know what to expect. The action is excellent tho, more variety in the levels at least.The graphics do the job, and the guns are cool, meaty and sounding excellent. Love the gore, must have hollow points!

Got this the other day and have been playing it the last 2 nights or so. Kind of 'meh' really. The atmosphere is great and is generally pretty scary. But the AI is pretty dumb and it handles like a slightly improved Aliens: Colonial Marines.
